I don't know that I'd call an average of about 50 miles a day for a week--340 miles or so--"a joke." It may not beat the record, but it's roughly on par with what the winner of the Bunion Derby averaged for the cross country trip in 1927. Two marathons a day for a week. Not bad. Don't get so eager to prosecute that you lose all grounding in reality.

Not sure what you're referring to. The surveillance video and the Asher encounter were several hours apart. Have they said that Rob was well behind the RV again when the Asher encounter happened, which was several hours later than the video?

Their stories have changed and don't make any sense, but I didn't catch that change if they said it.

IIRC, "Michael" posted a video to their FB earlier, claiming that Rob was just on the other side of the RV or something, and they got scared, and all drove away together.

Now, the recent FB post with the surveillance footage says:

"Though this individual has posted video footage of our vehicle online as he drove past, for some reason he felt unwilling to ask us to stop, to enquire where Rob was when he couldn't see him. If he had done so he would have been welcomed in and been able to discover the facts."

And goes on the elaborate that the facts are that the RV has driven too fast and left Rob behind.

Maybe I'm confused but these sound like contradictory statements. Probably his crew is confused... After all they are doing all this BS, handling the controversy about as gracefully as monkey Fing a football, when a very elegant solution requiring 10s and an index finger exists - "Sync to Strava".

Perhaps the ineptitude of the RY team, ignorance of requests for data, etc, is now a measured strategy. After all, if your goal is to draw attention to your attempt/accomplishment, why not just let the LR threads grow larger and larger, larger than life, with all the attendant media publicity.

Might actually be genius PR rather than cheating!

For better or worse--and nobody wants to hear this--it's entirely consistent with reality that somebody as impulsive as Young could go out like gangbusters, hold it for a few weeks, and then slow. That's exactly what happened in the Bunion Derby. Young may have been blindsided by the weather in America, which, in June, ain't exactly the British Isles.

I'm just saying. Sometimes people DO start out too fast and then slow down. It's been known to happen to honest people.

And in the end, when it is widely known he has cheated, BANK on the victim card being thrown.

That was Mike Rossi's attitude towards Letsrun as well. In his mind, we were just "12 skinny little girls", posting under various handles. Try googling "Mike Rossi" now and see what this site has done to the man's reputation. Letsrun also took down Kip Litton and exposed Paul Ryan as having lied about his marathon time.

Letsrun didn't destroy Mike Rossi because he cheated in a marathon. Carl Price was a serial cheater, outed by this forum, and his thread died down quickly, and without much fuss because he manned up and admitted that he did something stupid. Mike Rossi and Kip Litton were crucified because they couldn't bring themselves to publicly admit to making a mistake and chose instead to attack and threaten those who dared question their running abilities.

This thread is still in its initial research phase, where posters are gathering and analyzing all of the evidence. The next phase will begin when one of the brojos likely writes an article, detailing all of the evidence that Robert Young has embellished and lied about some of his past achievements and could not have run the times that he did on the first half of his trip. There may be a large monetary challenge, in support of a children's charity, for Robert Young to hold sub-6 minute per mile pace for 40 miles, or something similar.

When Wejo published his article on Rossi, many other media sources took notice and followed up with articles critical of Rossi, culminating with him being named Philadelphia's biggest loser of 2015 in a year-end article.

Robert Young and his team don't know what they're in for if they underestimate this forum. Their pathetic excuses are not going to stand up to scrutiny once all of the evidence, along with their contradictions, is synthesized into a well-written article that gets picked up by other media sources. At that point Robert and team will not only have to face the fact that they cheated, they will also have to own up to the fact that they lied to all of their supporters, making them look like fools.

A word to the wise: come clean now. It will get much worse in the coming weeks and months.

Here is my interest in the RY affair: I'm still miffed at his PR of 350

miles in 75 hours which is superior to my 329 at ATY short loop with

bountiful aid stations. I'll extend this offer to him --a thousand dollars

(or equivalent pounds) if he can beat me in 72 hours at a time and course

of his choosing after this event is done. My wager money will come out of

my own pocket and I'm doing it for myself not the kids. I win I pocket

it--for profit. RY wins he can do what he wants with it.

I agree. Laz went in with open mind and seems like an impartial observer. He is not there to tear apart Rob as some of us would probably have including myself. I am glad he is there.

I don't understand all these animosities towards Laz and ultra runners in this thread. I don't particularly follow ultra but I have heard of him through someone else. He seems like a good guy. Just let him do what he went there to do. He is spending his own time and not being compensated for his.

No. A Trump supporter would be republican and therefore supportive of things such as allowing the stupid to be fooled. If there are people who refuse to go do the research and inform themselves before making a decision, then it's their own damn fault if they get screwed over. Big brother needs to stay out of it. He is definitely running for real now. Laz is there to observe. He was running more and riding less once this thread got started so immediately he was going slower and covering less miles. I think he was still cheating during that time but not as much for the fear that someone is out to "meet' him or he be shown on other security cams.
