Anyone have the actually story behind the Fox v. Bester fallout? Fox openly blames Bester for stealing clients from him, and for posting hate about him on this forum, including, among other things, accusing Bester of suffering from mental health issues. As far as I'm aware, Bester's never really made a statement regarding Fox, but he obviously despises the guy.
It's funny, I came here to say something similar as well. I actually enjoy this thread, often makes me chuckle.
But in true text format style, one of the greatest influencers is sirpoc and we don't get to hear from the dude other than to check in on the thread now and again, yet he's probably helped improve more runners than any of these influencers. Hope he takes some scalps.

Thanks for summarising this. I just tried to watch the video - her style of building up to the big reveal is an infuriating trick to increase watch time.
She has a shot at top 3 Brit. Think there are only 5, and I don't think Holly Archer has aspirations of sticking with the elite women.
Going to be fun to see if she gets 2.23! Think one of her goals is the B standard of 2:24:00. However, UK Athletics will only take people who can be "competitive" at the Worlds. In reality, none of the UK women are that competitive at world level! Let's hope Elish can be!
I read in Athletics Weekly that Eilish is aiming for 2:26, the Scottish record and her mum's time. Not sure if that's a conservative goal, but she and Holly Archer (2:33-2:37) seem to have set the most realistic goals. I would have thought that Eilish will be top female Brit, so given that, and given that last year no non- African runner was running under 2:23 (at least I don't think so), I just can't see these kind of PBs materialising. London just isn't that fast.
I'm sure there will be some strong running and don't think the weather will bother anyone who's trained outside of the UK winter at any stage in their career, which I think is most of the UK ladies. (Definite blow-up potential for Cole, Felton and Nick Bester).

I also think her training looks good, better than last time and she’s still in the infancy of her marathon career with room for improvement. Something in the 2:23-2:24s isn’t impossible if she can handle not having a pacer.

If Bester plays it smart and doesn’t stray from his goal of 2:19:30 or even realises a warm day in London isn’t the same as a cold day in Berlin and just shoots for a 2:21/2 from the off, he might win this YouTube duel yet.
It seems like Cole has been goaded by Felton’s public declaration of shooting for 2:18 by doing the same himself. For weeks he has said 2:20 is the plan and he’s sticking with it for his first marathon. Feels like there’s a real chance both blow up.
Cole definitely has a sub 2:18 in him but he lacks experience and seems pretty blasé about the weather. Felton seems unrealistic with a 2:18 goal (hope he proves me wrong, like him and Bester did so magnificently to Braincell last year) but taking 6 minutes off his PB in one go seems a big ask.
Feels like both would be better off aiming for 2:19:59 and getting that sub 2:20 under the belt. Plenty of time for them to improve on that in the future.
What odds on Philly Bowden to beat at least 1 of the 3? Think Bester is experienced enough to know he has no chance of 2:18 pace on Sunday which could work in his favour. he’s the least talented of the three for sure but wonder if he’s got the most grit.

Why on earth would you need to take 8-9 gels in a marathon if you are running at what you believe to be a suboptimal goal pace?!

Alex Filitti seems like a nice guy, but I would question his reliability. Have you noticed that the three Instagram accounts of MetaEndurance have a majority of followers that are most likely bought? The accounts have around 150,000 followers, and when you click on them, most appear to be bots from India or the Middle East. It probably makes it easier to land lucrative brand deals when you have more followers.

Tim Grose’s video from today is a good breakdown of the YouTuber prospects.
Towards the end, he says something about a ‘YouTuber that I can’t name’, who he’s not included in his analysis. Any idea what that’s about? Can’t believe Tim has fallen out with anyone as he seems a genuine chap to me, or maybe another YouTuber got upset about his analysis videos in the past? I don’t know.

Ran to Japan might actually have a few screws loose. i don't know how he manages the mileage and the red line racing otherwise. kudos to him though, it seems all the best runners might be a little insane
