NYT op-ed writer.
Coward or not?
I have not been able to form an opinion on this and would like to know what you people think.
Pro coward stance - Did this anonymously. Since Trump doesn't know who it is, this means this person has never given these opinions, even in a more toned-down way to Trump. Cowardice behavior.
Anti-coward stance - Politics, especially these days is an emotional issue for many (not for me though). We saw the crazy Trump supporter (Robert D. Chain, 68 of Encino, CA) arrested recently for making threats against employees of the Boston Globe parroting Trump saying they are the "enemy of the people". Crazy, irrational people come from all walks of life and political leanings. You never know what someone might do to this writer if he/she became known. There are a lot of Democrats criticizing the way this writer went about this, so harm could potentially come to this person from anyone.
So, what say you?
I say that, like you, I just don't know.
It's hard to even figure out a rational explanation as to why this person wrote this. The closest thing I've heard to an explanation is that the person wants to be on the right side of history and eventually be seen as a hero instead of a villain. But to the extent that this insider is helping to save America from Trump's "worst inclinations", the op-ed itself may torpedo his efforts.
