“Retirement”
Lol see you on this board afterwards. I “retired” already a few years ago, and am somehow busier now.
If this is all there is to the year-end drawdowns, then wow—it is nothing.

Maserati,
I delivered newspapers the day JFK was assassinated. As a younger man I ran 100-160 miles a week while working a full-time job. At nearly 70 I keep a schedule few of the youngsters can keep up with, which includes doing most of my home/auto maintenance. Tomorrow I will be out at 10:00 am in predicted rain showers to run a New Year’s Day 5k. I won’t be rocking the chair in retirement.

I’m sure you’re fitter than some of those other old geezers out there repping their Vaporflys. What’s up with that? The pic of that old fat guy in the shoe thread is so unflattering.
Anyway good luck in your 5k. Don’t let any of those 80 year old, pot bellied, Vaporfly wearing hobby joggers finish ahead of you.
Happy New Year all!

Yea, yea. I bet I improved more than you last year.
SP500 closes the last day of the year up 0.29%, gaining back almost half of yesterday’s losses.
It’s a very good sign, IMO.
Feeling like shiite myself and staying at home in a warm tub tonight, but hope you all have a rocking new year. Me, and my Fisherman’s Friend, Vapo-Rub, and Throat Coat will be thinking of you.?

Cogito, ergo sum.
Finishing Volume 6 of Churchill’s Second World War at the moment.

Okay, another year in the bag. Hope it met everyone's expectations. And yes, kind of nice the way the market rallied to end on an up note.
Happy New Years.
Long live the bull market.

You just can’t take a compliment. I still wish you well.

The good news is that everyone made money this year - bonds, gold, stocks, cash, real estate. So unless you are actively short...you made solid coin! Happiness reigns.
All eight indexes on our world watch list posted gains through December 30, 2019. The top performer is our own S&P 500 with a gain of 28.34% and in second is France's CAC 40 with a gain of 27.57%. In third is China's Shanghai with a gain of 23.31%. Coming in last is London's FTSE with a gain of 12.66%.

Thanks. My apologies. Better go warm-up. Happy New Year to you.
Sold 80 more % of my TSLA options, have only 10% left.
Got a bunch of BS RE recos this morning. Based on that, I would be very wary of RE this year, also homebuilders, who had a good 2019. It will be interesting to see what commodity prices do this year.

Stocks aren't going down until at least 2021. Trump will do whatever it takes to keep things looking nice even if it means sacrificing the long term health of the stock market. He himself has basically said as much.
Go long on everything. Stocks (because see above), and bonds and gold because the longer the bull market goes on, the more and more bears (aka suckers) will be willing to buy into safe havens and miss out on glorious stock gains
Going to be a huge day for me, not even including TSLA. Just one of those days where everything hits, and bigly.
Except for those few HD shares, of course?. At least it’s not down.
Yet.
I'm sure this is the year he will admit he's been wrong for the past 10 years. NOT!

a mildly strange day. not a broad rally - small caps were barely up. Lots of stocks actually down. Healthcare, personal goods. Unweighted SP500 only up 24 bps. Real estate tanked. But tech and emerging markets roared.
Gold and bonds up too.
Doesn't really make sense but it doesn't have to.
good tool to vsualize the market's action. You can see a lot of red today.

for example? What can he do? Specifically.
