Did some checking today and while this has been one incredible year (to say the least), esp. if you were holding the right stocks or sector indices, I have to say, i probably would have done even better if i had done nothing in the last 12 months and just rode the whole thing out. My one right move, however, that paid off well, was to move out of the small caps and more heavily into technology.

Anyway, besides a little sector rotation, it just seemed to confirm Sally's strategy, buy and hold for the long term and ride out the downturns.

Yeah, I am all US mega-caps, except for a few ETF’s and BABA, and I have beaten the averages this year. No bonds, no REIT’s...no utilities, also no energy. Also no BA! Some options. I nailed it. The single wanker trade I made was buying a bit of HD, which I still have.

I expect much of the same at least the early part of next year, probably longer.

Maserati, i noticed you said you have the S&P 500 Triple Leveraged ETF: SPXL a few days ago. I have that, too. Along with TECL and TQQQ (3x tech and nasdaq 100 etfs respectively). I have a few of those disappointing trades like your HD, but they were miniscule, luckily. The one that bit me more than most is the 3x Emerging Market ETF, but i am too far down on that one to sell, will ride it out.
