Meta Endurance's Alex Filitti -- who was noted in this thread a while back for seemingly attributing a subpar Tokyo Marathon performance to officials not allowing personal bike support onto the course -- detailed his Boston Marathon gear haul at the 1:05 mark.
Had no idea influencers got so much stuff. Pair of shoes, jacket, shirts, beanie, socks, stuffed toy, singlet, etc.
I mean to be fair anybody walking around Boston could have gotten $500 worth of free crap from brands. Maybe not the shoes and jacket but at least tshirts, hats, water bottles, bags, clam chowder, etc

I've run Boston three times, including this year. The free Sam Adams coupon and assorted gels aside, where are you walking to get $500 of "at least tshirts, hats, water bottles, bags, clam chowder?"

I think my Believe in the Run hat autographed by Kofuzi is worth at least $800, thanks for asking!

Simply head back to the start line after the race and pick up the most expensive looking items that people left behind at the start. Then go to church to atone for your sins whilst wearing Bret the Hitman Hart sunglasses. It's called Demooring.
We will have reached peak running YouTube when the robots and Seth do a 50k training run around a snowy parking lot outside of Denver in a few years! It does seem like Seth's training pace and the robot's race pace are pretty similar.
Dude's gonna be 40 and making youtube videos with a shrinking brand for a living.. I just don't see how he keeps this going for too much longer. Restarting the daily vlog seems like him admitting they are out of money.

Puma had an event giving away the Fast R 3s. Hoka was also giving away some shoes. On had "free race day gear" and was giving away Coffee Club tshirts too. Tracksmith has the race pack with hats and a tote, or at least they used to. Brooks had a free tote. Believe in the Run was giving out corduroy hats. Free chowder was at Legal Sea Foods. I'm missing a ton and was facetious about the $500, but there was a crap ton of free stuff given out over the weekend.
Alex Filitti seems like a nice guy, but I would question his reliability. Have you noticed that the three Instagram accounts of MetaEndurance have a majority of followers that are most likely bought? The accounts have around 150,000 followers, and when you click on them, most appear to be bots from India or the Middle East. It probably makes it easier to land lucrative brand deals when you have more followers.
Wondering how many of these YouTube influencers LRC's very own 41 year old icon sirpoc beats on Sunday.
It's funny, I came here to say something similar as well. I actually enjoy this thread, often makes me chuckle.
But in true text format style, one of the greatest influencers is sirpoc and we don't get to hear from the dude other than to check in on the thread now and again, yet he's probably helped improve more runners than any of these influencers. Hope he takes some scalps.
Philly releases a video that highlights she's had a brilliant training block.
A goal of 2:23, top 3 Brit and GB vest consideration for the championships.
Whether she does it or not, there'll be a 14 part series about it incoming
Thanks for summarising this. I just tried to watch the video - her style of building up to the big reveal is an infuriating trick to increase watch time.
She has a shot at top 3 Brit. Think there are only 5, and I don't think Holly Archer has aspirations of sticking with the elite women.
Going to be fun to see if she gets 2.23! Think one of her goals is the B standard of 2:24:00. However, UK Athletics will only take people who can be "competitive" at the Worlds. In reality, none of the UK women are that competitive at world level! Let's hope Elish can be!
I read in Athletics Weekly that Eilish is aiming for 2:26, the Scottish record and her mum's time. Not sure if that's a conservative goal, but she and Holly Archer (2:33-2:37) seem to have set the most realistic goals. I would have thought that Eilish will be top female Brit, so given that, and given that last year no non- African runner was running under 2:23 (at least I don't think so), I just can't see these kind of PBs materialising. London just isn't that fast.
I'm sure there will be some strong running and don't think the weather will bother anyone who's trained outside of the UK winter at any stage in their career, which I think is most of the UK ladies. (Definite blow-up potential for Cole, Felton and Nick Bester).
I'd love to see Eilish do well out of all the GB women.
I do think the men's sub elite/YouTube crowd has at least one big blow up in it, given the aggressive goals and warm weather.
I think so too, none of them will adjust the goal pace to suit the conditions. They’ll all positive split most likely and I reckon at least one will have a full on bonk.
Anyone have the actually story behind the Fox v. Bester fallout? Fox openly blames Bester for stealing clients from him, and for posting hate about him on this forum, including, among other things, accusing Bester of suffering from mental health issues. As far as I'm aware, Bester's never really made a statement regarding Fox, but he obviously despises the guy.

Perennial post. Just needs a 'hangs on to randomly selected training buddy as long as possible despite focusing entire build on incredibly specific and inflexible time goal.'

I went to the Puma pop up cited in your list. They were giving away Fast R-3s... in exchange for $307 after taxes.
I agree you can snag a Clif bar, gel, free city tour, cinch bag, or similar item, but to suggest carbon plated shoes were being given away to the masses needs citation.
