If you truly hold the belief that male athletes are difficult to recruit if you're a female, look at the class Angela Reckart is bringing in at Penn State this season. 4 sub 1:51 guys from in and out of state. She is the major force recruiting Penn State, especially since Gondak is socially awkward and unlikable. Although he brings the coaching expertise for the 800, a lot of athletes are going there because of the relationship Angela formed with them.
I know Andrea and if you don't think she can recruit then you don't know a single thing about her. She recruited prospects to Iowa State over schools like Colorado Oregon Stanford. Not the easiest sell. But she's a coach who has proven she can develop athletes and win championships, which is paramount.
The package of Coach Andrea and UNC is going to be difficult to brush aside. This is more her program than it was at Iowa State and you can bet that she's going to go to extra mile that it is going to take to salvage the UNC program.
Tell me what girls are going to choose UVA over UNC at this point. Duke over UNC. Henes is her greatest threat in the ACC, but a lot of girls would chose a UNC degree over a NC State degree if it came down to it. Excited to see how this will play out.
Great hire. Does Harlis get a reprieve? Far as I see he's still on the hot seat. Does Andrea take over whole program when he's sent packing? She must really believe this is a stable thing to give up ISU.
Anyone in New England know whats up at Bridgewater State? Restructuring the whole program? Formality to promote xc coach to head track & field coach as well?
I saw they had a head cross country coach, head women's track coach, and head men's track coach last year, and the listing is for Head of men's and women's XC and T&F.

When I ran there, we had a head cross country coach, and a head track coach. Both of them were part time, and had other full time jobs, and all the other coaches were either part time, or volunteers. They hired the head women's track coach after I graduated, so I don't know him/her. I am not involved with the program now, but my guess based on reading the posting is that since the school is doing so well, they are wanting to hire a full time coach to run the whole program.

Stay tune Herbster will be named the Director of track&field/cross country at Valley City State University. He will be appointing Simmons as his top GA. The announcement will come tomorrow or the next day sometime between 12 noon-12 midnight.
