Slowish year on the men's side? That 5000 is going to be crazy. 7 of the top 9 seeds are doubling back from 1500/10000.

Umm, would you please take a look at what event my son is entered for nationals, I assure it's not a middle distance event.

Supposedly the NCAA changed their regulations regarding blade legs. Digby has to run with shorter blades now. It is apparently making a difference.

Prediction: Patel will be ~4% faster than the entire field in the 10K this evening. Darin Lau will get second (again). Pomona Pitzer has a shot to shock the nation and will probably blow it (and so will NCC most likely, due to low numbers this year). That WIAC battle in the 1500 is about to be wild. 5K should also be fun to watch, as over a quarter of the field is doubling back from the 10K (and watch for that Benedictine "freshman").

the wind out here in Geneva is wild! I predict Dhruvil Patel will be quite literally blown off the track tonight in the 10k. Can’t see someone of his stature staying on the ground, unless Norvell and Osmulski stand in front of him the entire race.
