This whole thread has to be one big troll of a joke. I mean, seriously, if you don't believe in GW then you're an ignorant, conservative POS. In fact, you probably belong in the same group as the church people who claim evolution isn't a fact.
Scientists are not lying about this. There was recently a Climate March in NYC with 400,000 people in it. You think all those people are just blind sheep? Yeah right. Plus, the science is logical. Changes are already being seen as we speak to flora and fauna.
No, I'm sorry, you are the joke. Your second sentence proves it ... Are you referring to the "Theory of Evolution", because scientists reserve the term "Law" to describe "fact". The Theory of Evolution has a great deal of data backing up it's current premise, but it remains in development ... when they call it the "Law of Evolution", get back to me, would you?
Very few concepts in science become Laws. Studying AGW became a hobby of mine only AFTER Robert Watson, in the late 90's, claimed that the science is settled. This single statement points to the unfortunate circumstance that, for many in the AGW camp (we could probably list them as being in the CAGW camp), that this branch of science is more religion than science ... and that is tragic.
NOW, those in the skeptic camp who believe that no degree of warming has been created by increased CO2 aren't scientists; it is a fact that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, and will cause some amount of increase. I have been very interested (I am a chemist, and have done actual experiments dealing with these concpets) in Beers Law and it's prediction that CO2's impact is dampened significantly after 400 ppm due to it's absorption bands, but more work needs to be done in this area. Since CO2 is now at about 403 ppm, it may help explain the current pause.
I believe we will find that natural variability can/will trump the current HIGHER temperature of the planet; while the earths temperature hasn't warmed for an 18+ period, we are warmer than we were 150 years ago. Even the IPCC has admitted that we may be looking at 30+ years of static or even lowering temperatures.
