Worse is if the USADA decides to go back as far as possible and starts comparing old test data against new test data. If USADA is starting to do this, like they did with Lance Armstrong, expect all hell to break lose, not just at NOP but for every single sport that the USADA keeps a watchful eye on.

This was merely someone's psychology project. They started the rumors and used fake accounts to reenforce the idea. It was easy to detect the little techniques used in attempts to convince people. First off the thread begins with no explanation in attempts to get people to think it is common knowledge and they should already know the news. Then another presumably fake account states that centro has tested positive. This is already a psychological ploy, it makes it seem as if it is common knowledge and the story is circulating and that other people have heard about it. People begin to discuss and fake evidence is presented and people began to jump on the bandwagon. It was all a psychological game, and it worked. One troll managed to stir up enough controversy to attract attention, and then people began believing it even defending the false statements. I was a psychology major, and if you view this from that standpoint all of the little things are there, leading me to believe that it was carefully thought out and planned as someone created an elaborate scheme to be able to get people to believe what they want to hear. You my friends have been trolled by the ultimate troll, who used obvious psychological tactics to hoodwink you all. I am impressed.

The rumor started offline, not here. It may have been someone's psychology project, but the users who posted here had separate IPs.

well, both the original accusation and now your scenario are both incredibly speculative.

I think anybody who saw my posts on armstrong wouldn't accuse me of wanting to defend anybody "at any and all costs"

USADA could be claiming a positive under the biological passport. that is process that has been upheld by CAS.

anyway, I can't really comment intelligently any further (if I ever could) in the absence of any facts.

You still get out of competition testing, Boston is far enough in the future that anything would be out of your system by then.

I would hope that testing agencies would flag a withdrawal close to events as an automatic out of competition testing.

News flash, racing a marathon is not something you do if you have a nagging injury keeping you from training. Hell even starting a marathon with some kind of injury (even mild and new) is questionable.

Is the out of competition testing the same as you would get a the championships?

If so, then why not simply test all athletes that withdrawal from championship competitions the next day.

That would end the entire speculation regarding withdrawals (which seems borderline stupid to me) and would help to catch those doping.

There's nothing suspicious about Cain and Ritz dropping out at the same time as this "rumor." If they were all afraid of a new test, they wouldn't all drop out at once. Ritz would wait a few weeks. Simple.
