Notables from the Midwest Conference Meet
O'Grady for the win by about 30 seconds over Scherer, she was never challenged
Not sure of times, but I'm guessing slow, because the course was fairly muddy and slick along with a good breeze.
Grinnell men for the team win.
This is all second hand from a friend at the meet. Results will probably be up sometime early this evening
geneseo beat cortland
Lacrosse dominates WIAC with 26 points. Platteville and Stevens Point both finish with 64. Whitewater a distant 4th with 97.
For all the talk of Lacrosse being so tough 1-3 (and they are), it's worth emphasizing that their 1-5 split was just 34 seconds today. I think they can run with North Central, though the Cardinals have to be favored at the Midwest Regional.
#9 Dickinson laid a smack down on #8 Haverford at Centennial Conf. Champs today.
1 Dickinson College 1 2 3 4 6 16
2 Haverford College 5 8 10 11 12 46

NYU men 4-peat:

In a loaded field (six teams of eight were nationally-ranked), the Violet women took some pretty big scalps. WashU had a little fifth-woman trouble, but very little--they look more and more like podium contenders at NCAAs.
Across the country, lots of changes in conference pecking orders and lots of upsets of ranked teams. It'll be interesting to see the new polls!

Yea the course was a mess. Times were very slow all around. Standing water and a slopfest. Grinnell ran well for the men but they have some holes after there top 2.
Good meet overall men and women. Look for a few fast times at regionals.

North Central College had the top 9 runners in there Conference meet. the 1-5 split was .80 seconds GOOD GOD! I know it won't actually come to that when they are racing as hard as they can but still thats an awesome pack.
too lazy to look this up but didn't NCC win some all illinois meet? Did that include U of I or S. Ill with their legit rosters?
I don't like to dwell much on this much since it is all speculation, but I'd think NCC could be one of the top 30 teams in the country (D1, 2 and 3). What they did at CCIWs was pretty incredible.
Yes, they beat a full Illinois squad at Illinois Intercollegiates. While impressive, Illinois is not a top D1 team this year. They just finished 7th at Big 10's. So beating them does not indicate that North Central would be a top 30 team in the country. You might be right, but it's hard to speculate about this sort of thing.
That being said, no one is going to touch NCC at nationals. People saying LaCrosse can run with them are delusional. NCC had 7 guys at 24:41 or better at Oshkosh. Calvin used to come to that meet when they were dominating DIII, and they never came close to doing that. This is one of the best DIII teams ever assembled.
yeah, i'm aware that illinois sucks, esp. at big tens...more of a side thought than a point I was trying to make. Agreed that this may rival some of Al's best teams.
