Well, I felt after the semi that what he did in coming back the way he did that he could maybe run 1.43 high/1.44 low today. Never in a million years did I foresee that.
His strength is unreal - especially at his age. He is legitimately about 7-8m back at 600m and was running in lane 2 and not looking exactly that comfortable - but he then rips off a 25.7 final 200m in lane 2 the entire way.
And the crazy thing? If Jewitt was just that fraction stronger/more aware in the semi-final on Friday? That would never have happened today.
Side note Josh Hoey - If that 3x400m workout was very "un-Rinaldi" like - then this was the racing equivalent. Suicidal opening 200/400 especially when leading the field out. Bad miscalculation is an understatement.
