Yeah maybe pacers in distance races aren't so bad after all.
It’s not like they replaced the diamond league…there will be plenty of fast paced 5000s. I don’t mind a bit of variety.

Races longer than 3000m need pacers.
Would a 1500 / 3000 group have been better? Hmm I think so
they wouldn't follow the pacers.
Has a professional women's 5,000m ever been faster than the men's at the same meet?

oh yeah, I mean generally--not for this meet. Unpaced 3000 is fine, unpaced 5000 on a night like this... snoozefest
Teare might be the fastest miler in the group. Will be interesting to see if he can sneak a win.
distance group needs some road guys who might force teh pace.

Never believed mj's bs from the start. Obvious money grab.
Grant giving himself extra work... WOW he's moving though
Cooper MF Teare
52 sec last lap?

We need a moderately fit pit pull that is released 15 seconds behind them. We could also rub their boxers in a ribeye to spice it up even more.
~52 last lap leader to leader
Africa goes home DEVASTATED

USA SWEEP BABY!!!!
I thought fisher lost it by getting boxed but maybe he saved energy by not going as hard before 200m to go. Teare looks like he can make the team this year for sure.

Seriously ALMAZ AYANA would get tired of the mens pace and inject a push for home...she wouldn't win but that's how ridiculously slow the men are running after 4 laps into the race. That a women could be in the pack and take the lead to push the pace 😳
....
They should have reduced the prize money for placing by 25% and implicated time bonus for everything over 400m.
Jacobs in 3rd is a strangely solid result for a guy with like no flat speed
