Do you guys not understand that allowing tyranny/evil/dictatorships to explode in the world outside our borders is a long-term security risk for our country? The western world learned this through several devastating wars and built an alliance to prevent this from occurring again. A war in Europe hurts US interests both in terms of our security and our financial welfare.

You are correct that I’m no historian, but I do understand geography. In WWII Hitler would have had a monumental logistical obstacle in trying to attack the United States due to the 3,000 miles of Atlantic Ocean. He would have been at a severe disadvantage by having to haul fuel, supplies, equipment and troops over the ocean to fight on our home turf. The same concept applies here with Russia. Russia would have all of the same hurdles to overcome, not to mention the fact that we have nukes.
