We've merged a ton of threads into 1. Other thread titles included, "The Pagan Olympics" another was called, "France Summed up in 1 picture", "Paris 2024: Child R*pist athlete, Satanic Opening Ceremony, Drag queens gyrating next to young girls..." and “Does not wanting my kids to watch a bisexual threesome at the Olympics make me a bigot?”
If it isn't clear to you by know that Satan is in control, I don't know what else to tell you.
Idk if you know this or not be De Vinci wasn't a creator or Christianity nor is he in the Bible. Heck the Bible says to make no images of God and if Jesus is God so wouldn't De Vinci be an agent of Satan according to you?
The bible says you are supposed to turn the other check and when your enemy is hungry feed them.
Stop complaining you sound like the Christian version of Islamic terrorists
that's just not true. Not even Paris 2024 is arguing that.
it was clearly riffing off Leonardo's last supper.
Paris 2024 apologized today.
I mean look at this. Scroll down to the comparison images between the Leonardo and the Opening Ceremony. It was meant to conjure up the Last Supper. Groups of three, central figure, one side of the table.
THEN they brought in the pagan stuff.
If it wasn't the Last Supper why does the paris Christ figure have a Christian halo? No pagan imagery included halos. Only Christian.
Sorry agip, but reality says your wrong. See, Apollo has 7 rays of light, just like the Opening Ceremony. There are 10 people to the right of Apollo and 8 to the left, not 6 and 6. The 1st person to the right of Apollo, holding a sword, is definitely Ares (Mars) not John the Apostle. Where is Peter's knife, the 2nd person to the right? The 3rd person (the child) to the right is probably Eros (Cupid), not Judas Iscariot.
Speaking of John the Apostle, da Vinci makes him so androgynous Dan Brown made 100s of million dollars claiming he was really Mary Magdalene. Da Vinci's last work was an androgynous John the Baptist!

great stuff, appreciate the facts. May have to change my view.
Dern you are a good one, Gente! Congrats. You may have actually won an argument on the internet.
Although just looking at that Paris tableau...It seems way more Last Supper than bacchanalia. But for now I am corrected and appreciative.

My late uncle was an artist and had a couple of galleries in NYC. He was a big fan of Nixon and after Watergate he painted his version of da Vinci's The Last Supper. Nixon was Christ and various advisors and cabinet heads were the apostles. He depicted John Dean has Judas Iscariot.
What the heck ever happened to having fun? Lighten up. I was raised Christian, and the example set by Jesus informs & inspires my life. Jesus helped the poor, the downtrodden, fought for the unfortunate, had compassion. He didn't back hate, violence, war.
Most idiots still think Joe Biden had won that last election legitimately. Look at Trump's rallies. Contrast that with when Biden makes a public appearance with embarrassing attendance.
Mail in/fraud votes stole the last election. This time they're attempting another steal if they can't murder Trump or throw him in prison first out of desperation. They registered over 10 million illegals to ballot dump for their representative in swing states. Time to wake up.

Leonardo is the world’s most famous artist. But a new opera is shining fresh light on his private passions – by depicting his intense relationships with two of his assistants.
Leonardo da Vinci is celebrated for his astonishing genius and inventive mind. Historian Elizabeth Abbott argues that understanding da Vinci’s sex life, or lack thereof, provides a rare glimpse into how sexuality and male lov...
And this is how the democrats want the US to look. Immorality from within brought down the Roman Empire not foreign invaders.
You were mocked unmercifully. Mocked by millions. Your deepest religious beliefs were mocked in front of the whole world. It was a declaration of war against your people. That's the only objective way to see it.

Jesus Christ. You can't help but feel bad for the guy. Getting schlonged by drag queens has got to be humiliating. I know some MAG@s who couldn't even make it to church last Sunday. It was just too much sh!t to deal with.
Those of you saying that it didn’t mock Christianity because it was depicting “Feast of the Gods” are missing the point. If the first thing that popped into most Christians’ minds was the Last Supper, then this display shows a lack of awareness and consideration. Plus, given how the Last Supper was painted first and the obvious similarities between the two paintings, isn’t it likely that the painter was referencing the Last Supper by showing a similar setting but creating a contrast with pagan gods sitting around Apollo (vs Jesus and his disciples)? BTW, the original “Feast of the Gods” looked nothing like the one we’re discussing and didn’t invoke the Last Supper in the least.
And as for the outrage, just be glad it consists of annoyed Christians expressing discontent on the Internet and not people of another religion planning retaliatory public executions and mass terrorism. I think the outrage is less about the actual offense and more how other major religions are treated with kid gloves and protected. It’s fashionable to make fun of Christianity … and also infinitely safer relative to other religions. Either stop making fun of religions or make fun of them all.

Happily. Let's start with the moronic Christian neanderthals who are posting in this thread about how they need safe spaces. F*cking disgusting snowflakes.

What in the name of Christ are you talking about??? We've been trashing other religions constantly. Quit pretending you're being picked on like some victim. Go ask Mormons how bad they get trashed on a daily basis. Not even total mongos one respects that stuff. You should go walk a mile in some Mormon shoes before you come in here all crying and stuff.

Firstly, this thread is about the display at the Olympics, not what people are posting on LR. What offends me is how our society treats certain groups of people as protected classes (e.g., races, religions, sex/gender identity, etc.) while others are fair game. Does that not bother you?
But to your point, what is the obsession with trashing Mormons here? And why don't you spread that hate around to other religions? Also, you do realize that Mormons are Christians, so they would be just as offended as other Christians, right? And how do you know I'm not Mormon?

You are comparing apples to oranges. No christian complain about daily jokes from individuals.
Here, we are talking about Olympic games, an event watched by more than one billion people and organised by a country. Remind us when an Olympic Game opening ceremony deliberately mocked another religion? Remind us when a government, being watched by the whole world, decided to mock a religion for no reason (pretending to be inclusive by mocking billions of people)?
It's also a violation of Olympic chart that states no religious of political opinion/sign should be displayed and of the French principle of Laïcité, that claims that French government has the duty to be neutral regarding religion.
It was last supper, it has been confirmed by french public broadcaster, 2 artists involved and co-autor of the scene. They even said it with pride until they started doing damage control after the bad buzz. Even the unknown painting they claimed to represent in a second phase is a parody of the Last supper. First they insult our faith, then, they insult our intelligence.
