Read the actual article next time. It's just about Bezos being thankful for having a supportive family, nothing about being the only entrepreneur during the beginning of the internet.
Again, weird assumptions. I didn’t say he was the only entrepreneur at the beginning of the internet. I feel like you just write your own story in your head vaguely related to the words you read on the screen. You almost never respond to my actual argument.
Jeff, in the article, says that his family’s support was “one of many” lotteries he won. I think it’s safe to say that Jeff understands that luck played a role in achieving the level of success he has achieved.
The crazy trump lawmakers that did not lose their seats like Marge etc. are interesting to watch right here. Of all the things they are furious about with the lack of a red wave, it seems the inability to defund Ukraine war efforts has them the hottest. why would these lawmakers from back woods districts like Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana be so mad when the majority of their constituents support Ukraine?
it sure appears that some of them are Russian assets just like Trump. Almost like their inflow of Russian CPAC donations might dry up now.
Wal-Mart sells the same items as the mom and pop shop for half the price.
The poor benefit directly when Wal-Mart shows up in their neighborhood.
Wal-Mart started out as a mom and pop shop.
Amazon was a tiny internet book seller run out of Jeff Bezos's garage. He didn't make any money for like 10 years when he started.
Why do you assume every successful person or business started on the mountain top?
Amazon started at the birth of the internet. It was a lot of right place right time. Not saying it was easy, but luck had a part. There aren’t always going to be extremely high upside economic opportunities like the birth of the internet.
Walmart started in the 60s and it’s true that innovation was a large part of why it was so successful, but now there’s absolutely no way that a mom and pop shop will ever compete again. The ladder has been pulled up behind. It’s a different world now than it was in the 60s and 70s
My friend from Orange County CA also moved to CO. He says he is embarrassed to say he is from CA and always tells me that one should not vote in CO how people vote in CA or they will ruin the state. I agree with the sentiment that government works well with a divided government that works well together.
The GOP got absolutely DESTROYED in Colorado in the mid term elections.
Hope your friend who couldn’t cut it in OC is fitting in well 😏
He is actually struggling a little bit to find friends he relates to as he lives in suburbs now which has a way smaller variety of people than southern CA.
Dude is a 200+ pound gym rat who plays metal music.
For sure he was not happy with the mid terms and I was gleeful. We just intentionally don't talk politics much. He says he is very right wing but pro choice. He also sports Trump gear. We are pretty cool as long as we avoid talking politics.
The Adult in The Room, I believe him when he says he has hippy friends he does not talk politics with. You can be friends and have opposite politics. It's actually a healthy thing. He comes off pretty strongly here on the message board but in person he may be a totally solid dude. We shouldn't judge people so harshly.
We talk on the internet in a way we probably would never in person. Guilty as charged like 90% of us.
I wonder how people would talk if you had to use your real name with your real address and number listed with it.
The burden should always be on the government to prove that restriction of rights is justified.
Is Academic Discussion "the government?" No, he's a guy on a message board, he doesn't have to justify anything. Also the guy who cheered on people losing their jobs because of government vaccine (which were untested at the time, and later proven not to prevent transmission) mandates talking about statism is hilarious.
The people of Florida support their Dept of Education's legislation that restricts teachers' abilities to talk about sex and gender ideology to small children without parental consent, as evidenced by Desantis being re-elected. This is how representative democracy works, Harambe.

Harambe absolutely wrecked yet again.
You didn't read my genius rebuttals, bro
"Representative democracy" is a system where the government has the ability to systematically strip rights from citizens without justification. I am contending that is it "bad" when that happens. You all seem to be... unfazed. That is the definition of statism!

I've had 3 people on this forum want to come to my house. There's a diseased subset of liberals that lose their minds when they're disagreed with.
You can't discuss politics in America any longer. The divide is too great and both sides are working with their own sets of facts.

My god you project. YOU routinely post alternative facts. Nothing you post is done objectively. You spend all day insulting other posters. Why you are allowed to exist on this forum is beyond comprehension.

Name 1 "alternative fact".
I insult people who insult me.
You can't refute anything I say so you want me removed.

Three people from this forum want to go to your house to fight you? Who would that be? If that's the case, that's nuts. Pretty easy to just destroy you with words and the truth...no need for fisticuffs.

You've got like 90,000 comments between your multiple names and you've never won a single argument...

No one finds votes days after an election is over quite like the Democrat Party. They always win at least 80% of all races that can't be determined at the end of election day.
Because it takes longer to count votes in urban areas (which are predominantly Democrat), than it does in rural counties (which are predominantly Republican), due to the significantly higher number of voters (and votes) in the cities. How hard is it to understand that?
Why is this though? I didn’t study sociology, if that’s what even explains this. I get that statistically more Americans don’t care about politics than those who do. I get that. politics is a boring, nerdy hobby.
For those who do vote though, why do Dems like to live in condensed diverse areas and Republicans tend to be more removed and isolated?
