I favor the theory that Trump is attracted to "shiny objects" and just wanted to hold on to stuff because it was ostensibly forbidden. Over the years you get the impression that he feels he knows how to confound the legal system and has gotten to the point that he's openly daring them to come after him as a ploy to stay the center of attention.

Trump is an interesting study in the criminal mind. He has to be smart in some way? He has avoided jail time like nobody, even before he was pres. At the same time, he is spouting off everything under the sun about the search, surely driving his lawyers insane. And then today!! It comes out that he put 2 or 3 passports (actual passports, not a heating bill, or dry cleaning receipt) in a drawer WITH the some top secret docs! That is priceless!
