Is it me or has Maryland turned over a lot of assistants in the past couple of years, what is the deal there?

Poor recruiting?? She's just a inexperience Coach. Better at the HS level! I had athlete she tried to recruit. She basically said I had more experience than her and she would like to call me once in awhile for some suggestions! My former athlete didn't end up their and went to another D1 program instead. Her going San Jose State. They must be desperate. There are so many HS coaches around their in the Bay area down to the Santa Cruz area that are a lot better!
And how many high school coaches in the area wanted to take a massive pay cut to get zero scholarship money to be set up for failure? Ask David Monk how that went at Sac St. Or ask Jen DeRego how that went at UCLA. Doubt they’re desperate…looks like Chucky just knew who wouldn’t complain and someone he could likely trust. Most local high school coaches would likely have become very frustrated with the situation and caused more headaches than they were worth…especially if they were successful. The point of that job is not to compete.
It’s pretty clear you know nothing about High School coaching.

It's not you, and it's not the assistants obviously.
Chadron State throws

It's pretty clear you know nothing about college coaching. It's obvious this poster was telling any local high school coaches that didn't get the SJSU job that they're much better off not being set up for failure there. Sure, I get that high school coaching is all about making chicken stew from chicken sh!t, and that can work in high school (a very admirable endeavor and nothing to be scoffed at). But that will never work in DI, especially not at San Jose State with the direction they're (understandably) taking things (zero scholarship/support for distance athletes). So if you're a high school coach, just accept the compliment and thank your lucky starts you weren't set up to fail at one of these types of programs. Unless you're a minority, it will end your career. And that's nothing against minorities, that's just the plain truth.
Most HS coaches are setup for failure in XC and track.I have been both a HS coach and a college coach and I don’t think being a college coach is taking a pay cut. So not sure either of those statements made sense.
Syracuse sprints should be open. Current guy leaving for assumingly one of the other open ACC jobs
The tea leaves. The place was inappropriately cleared out previously, with the promise of success. One candidate was hired over a more qualified candidate and the results have been declining. Throws coach leaves for a HC position, and there has been no word of the new hire. There has been no word out of Westwood period on anything. Meanwhile, across town they have another all star staff, a new track office facility that just opened, and recruiting is high. Coach Anderson's contract is up in June and there is no word of his renewal.
Their top sprinter transferred too. It is a mess
Just figured I would skip the LR innuendo on this one and detail it all.

So we’re saying that most teachers in California make about $50k? Yikes. How’s Mr. Floeck doing in Pullman now?

With the exception of the upper levels of Power 5, the majority of experienced teachers (at least 10 years with a masters degree) would make significantly more than most college coaches. That teacher in Ohio would be pulling down between 70 and 80k between teaching and coaching-possibly more if they coached both XC and TF and were the HC of either sports. Bump that up to 20 plus years with masters and they would easily be over 100k. How many college coaches are making that much? I'd say not nearly as many comparatively.

WTF? Who said that? Do you think that all HS coaches are teachers? Most good coaches are not teachers at the school.

No offense to the Syracuse Sprint coach(es) but is this another situation of "who you know" because if I'm being honest, I haven't known Syracuse to be a strong sprint school. Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not talking trash but what's with the carousel?

What's the story behind the previous staff being cleared out? I remember a couple years ago when the changes were made but I don't exactly remember the details.
I noticed their top sprinter transferred to LSU. I didn't know he had eligibility left but im assuming the pandemic played a part in the extra season. Are the athletes in general not happy or is the administration not happy since it's UCLA and they're "supposed" to be good?
What school districts are you working in in Ohio???
