It's hard to ever take you seriously, but the MAGA Capitol riots and subsequent efforts to illegally overturn the 2020 election have done as much lasting damage as the BLM riots. And the damage continues. The MAGA Capitol rioters were all pardoned and re-labeled as hostages and freedom fighters, for Christ' sakes. The damaging messaging there is horrific.
Again, quantitative analysis -- the number of morons involved -- would not be the best way to look these events, which are disparate to begin with. Qualitative analysis -- motives, goals, sophistication, organization, media coverage, political support, and other factors -- makes much better sense of the impact on society.
It's just as easy to say that the Capitol riots and overturning the 2020 election were the core of the MAGA party. But I agree that motives and political support are factors in assessing the impact of both sets of events.

The "lasting damage" from the multi-pronged fraudulent efforts to overturn the 2020 election, which include storming the Capitol to stop an election and then pardoning all the criminals who did it, is incalculable. It certainly damaged the rule of law, the Constitution, faith in the systems and institutions we built for 200+ years, and all ideas of justice. Just look at what it did to you. You believe a national election was rigged, despite the absence of a single witness or document that even remotely suggests such a thing occurred, and you believe the Vice President of the US gets to choose which electoral votes to count.
