Big time power move coming your way. ACC teams will have thier hands full for the next couple of years. If you like Oregons move......you'll like this one

Reckart has done a decent job at Penn State and probably has some job security there. I can’t imagine North Carolina could pay her that much more than Penn State to make it worth the move. I did not write the post you are replying to.

I did wonder how Bryan Jackson will make the transition to a women's only program after being exclusively a men's coach at Pitt.

At the same time I coach both genders. They are different, but not that different...we are probably just overthinking it because in other sports you typically coach one sex or the other and don't often transition between the two.

Even if this was Andrea and not Reckart, the same thing would apply. She’s making $106,000 at Iowa State as a Head XC coach and has plenty of job stability. She’d be a fool to take a $20,000+ pay cut (not to mention cost of living changes), especially considering that she has to put food on the table for her two children. No way does she put all that at risk for what could be a short stint at North Carolina.

Their HC probably accepted a new position somewhere with better facilities. He did well with the teams there but I'm sure it wasn't the most ideal set up (from what I've heard).

I did not write the post you are referring to, but there are many male coaches that I would ask “can he coach women?” There are a few male coaches who coach females only that I would ask “can he coach men?” Please don’t make everything into something it’s not.

With one-year contracts and more movements than a fat man in a prune factory, why would any coach buy a house, let alone in Charlottesville?

After almost two decades of collegiate coaching a vast majority of males prefer to be coached by a male. On the female side, more females want to be coached by a male as well, I'd estimate a one-half to two-thirds prefer a male coach.

Becuase we know that women are more emotionally driven with how they handle high pressure situations. It’s too much of a “walking on eggshells” situation. Some men are this way as well but they typically are the men that can’t get along with their boss or end up being bashed on here becuase they did something wrong(Washington)

Not true at all. As a former female collegiate athlete. It was much easier to trust my female coach than the male coach on various things, not to say that it’s necessary to be coached by a female, but it doesn’t hurt
