Normally I would be disturbed by this, but since Mimi has already had huge gaps in her data (over 20 hours) I don't think this changes much.

The distance is 1300 feet covered in exactly 1 minute. Close to a 4 minute mile.

There's no comparison though, a flat 1/2 mile loop with no traffic and no changing conditions to worry about. I can see walking while almost sleeping on that. People used to do the same thing running 50 mile races on the track.

You can not compare a closed loop race with a Trans Con. The Trans Con is more difficult on all levels except the running. You have to pay attention to the traffic at all times, the crew has to find places to stop, there is no set routine...
It probably cut's away 10% of the mileage you could do on a loop course without traffic.
The 3100 miler is so difficult because of the heat and humidity in Queens in Summer and the concrete pavement they have to run on.
Both challenges are very difficult, that's for sure.

Maybe she can get by by sort of sleeping as she walks. Maybe that makes sense on a short loop course where you can't get lost. She must be able to mentally zone out doing the loop over and over again; like zoning out when you drive and not remembering how to got somewhere.
There is a story about a walker from the late 19th/early 20th century -- Edward Payson Weston. He walked one mile each and every hour, 24 hours every day, for something like a month. During 1909, at age 70, he was the first to walk from San Francisco to New York in 100 days, covering 4000 miles. The distance is likely an exaggeration. He likely walked closer to 3000 miles. There are a couple of books about him that I haven't read but people who have enjoyed. This guy's wiki page is really interesting -- he admitted to chewing coca leafs (doping) when he walked over 100 miles in 24 hours.
