The EU is our largest trading partner. This helps us to reverse the years of trade imbalances & it's another win for the American economy. The "External Revenue Service" is working.
Sleepy Joe could never.
Cackles could never.
Tell me again how the tariff can help us. Give me some specifics instead of the trickle down economics bs.
It's simple. The foreign country with the tariff placed on it sends a check to Trump. Trump uses that money to further market his Trump Sh** to the mouth-breathers. The mouth-breathers buy more Trump Sh** they can't afford.
Retail investors who had buyers remorse once Trump and Musk got the power to do anything. Why has it gone down so much since January 20th?
Right. I'm sure the fact that other Trump-aligned companies / ones that would stand to benefit from a Trump presidency (e.g. private prisons) had their stock price jump a ton on November 6 also had nothing to do with him being elected. Great logic!
This is actually good news for Dems. The post 2024 election response from Dems has been an absurd combination of blaming the progressive wing of the party and trotting out lead balloons like the "Abundance" movement. Zohran Mamdani's huge upset in NYC and the huge turnout in very red areas for AOC and Bernie's oligarchy protest rallies has shown that the energy in the party right now is in the progressive movement. The DNC corporate centrist Dems have always justified their grip on power in the party based on polling showing the electorate being more centrist than the Bernie wing. This shows that the DNC corporate Dems have nothing to justify continuing with the same centrist BS and intra-party war on the progressive wing. We could see a huge shift inside the party towards the progressive wing.
This assumes there is no change on the source of the goods and services which we currently import, which is not necessarily the case. It also assumes the overseas supplier of such has no competition and can sustain their current prices.
I appreciate the civil response, but it doesn't seem to answer my question to GDG: Exactly what "external revenue" is the U.S. receiving? What monies from outside the USA is the American government collecting? That is, how is GDG's External Revenue Service "working," as he said?
Actual answer: "'External Revenue Service' is a cute phrase I saw somewhere from my crap 'media sources.' I loved it, and will use it as much as possible. Aside from some expertise I have in my profession, I've never had a deep thought in my life. I thrive on shallow, cute things like that, much of it fed to me by people making a buck off my ignorance and lack of character. I got a lot of really bad grades in school because I was so dumb and shallow. Nothing has ever changed in my brain, and nothing ever will."

Why has it gone down so much since January 20th once Trump and Musk actually had power to screw things up? Do you have an answer?
Probably because of all the news about a crazed white guy in Republican rustbelt dump, Traverse City, Michigan, going on a stabbing spree at the local Walmart.
(In reality, Traverse City and Cincinnati are both nice, safe midwestern cities, violent crime has been going down for years in the US and posting stories about black violent crime is so 2009 4chan).
Unfortunately, it is very "today" for Trump supporters. To them, if a non white person does something bad it is proof of both white superiority and Democrats failures. Never mind that there is no link between the perpetrators and democrats or a racial movement. But a mob beating up cops to break into the Capitol to overturn the election while yelling support for Trump indicates nothing negative about that group.
No, it's very much TODAY, 2025. In fact, almost certainly more so, since we now have a president determined to make racism great again, and roughly half the population relentlessly supporting him.
I guess there is a need to pivot back to the old 4chan stuff now that the Epstein list has backfired. In all seriousness, I have right wingers on my wife's side of the family and have watched their Facebook posts for over 20 years. They used to post the "OMG black violent crime against white people not in the news" stuff all the time. But the 2024 election cycle has changed it to a lot of stuff about Spanish speaking illegal immigrants and trans people. I actually think there has been a conscious effort on the part of M#GAworld content creators to scale back the stuff about black violent crime as Trump has been able to make some inroads with black voters.
Got it. The key part was "black," not the broader "racist."
Make Brown Racism Great Again.
Also, while I think of Trumpism as being almost entirely impervious to decency, progress, shame, etc., it's interesting to surmise that perhaps the focus on "trans" is a tacit admission that it's much harder than it used to be to be openly anti-gay/lesbian. Of course, they still WANT to be, and perhaps the outlet for that hatred is now trans.

I think you're a sensible poster, but the progressive wing has lost the plot. That's been made obvious. I consider myself a liberal and I think the far left has gone way too far. If Dems want to win another election they're going to have to move to the center. Or more to the center at the very least.

Horse hock! To those that observe such things, it was quite notable that the national media is ignoring, per their practice, the violent, video-taped, public gang assault in Cincin, and the reasons why they ignored it. If people are pointing that media practice out less than before, it's because it has happened so much that it is no longer newsworthy what is not newsworthy.
Trump is the best president for the entire Middle East.
I wish that I had connections to Trump's inner circle. I'd be working it hard to be named the "Thank You Envoy." I'd travel the world ENSURING that Donald J. Trump was personally thanked every time we gave anything to anyone in the world - including starving children in Gaza.
And I wouldn't just be hobnobbing in world capitals. No, I'd also be right down on the ground, berating starving children for not thanking President Trump enough.

President Trump expressed disappointment that the US wasn't thanked for providing $60 million in food aid to Gaza, while also claiming European countries offered no assistance. This comes amid growing concerns over hunger in...

This is coming. The reaction to MAGA and four years of Trump corruption and failed promises to the working class will backfire bigly on MAGA and embolden the progressive movement. They're likely to win bigly and push further to the left on things like healthcare, etc.
If Mamdani wins, the shift begins in earnest. The Centrist Dems will disappear, much like the old school Republicans who have disappeared in less than 10 years.

Correct!
Deer America: If you vote for Trump or an imitator over THE most left-wing person in America, you're a FREAKIN' mo-ran and bad American.
One will (is) literally trying to destroy America as we know it.
The other will support some policies you don't like, most of which are simply "annoying."
