Right. I'm sure the fact that other Trump-aligned companies / ones that would stand to benefit from a Trump presidency (e.g. private prisons) had their stock price jump a ton on November 6 also had nothing to do with him being elected. Great logic!

We could see a huge shift inside the party towards the progressive wing.

I think you're a sensible poster, but the progressive wing has lost the plot. That's been made obvious. I consider myself a liberal and I think the far left has gone way too far. If Dems want to win another election they're going to have to move to the center. Or more to the center at the very least.

To those that observe such things, it was quite notable that the national media is ignoring, per their practice, the violent, video-taped, public gang assault in Cincin, and the reasons why they ignored it. If people are pointing that media practice out less than before, it's because it has happened so much that it is no longer newsworthy what is not newsworthy.

This is coming. The reaction to MAGA and four years of Trump corruption and failed promises to the working class will backfire bigly on MAGA and embolden the progressive movement. They're likely to win bigly and push further to the left on things like healthcare, etc.
If Mamdani wins, the shift begins in earnest. The Centrist Dems will disappear, much like the old school Republicans who have disappeared in less than 10 years.
