Starting to wonder if True Love has been spending too much time with Matt Fox & disappeared as well; nearly 40 minutes of uncut footage without a single phone call or mention. Not seen her in the background either & the eggman was doing some amount of cooking last week too.
Guess who's back? Fake enthusiasm & all - oh how no one has missed her.
Can't remember the last time I saw The Hitman without being dressed head to toe in his own clobber either. Shout out to that scarf too!
Latest Believe in the Run was an infomercial disguised as a podcast. Basically doing PR for some overpriced "performance health" product that costs $4800 per year for a few dexascans, some blood work and a couple doctor visits. Insane.
The thing with Bowden, and also Ally O, is they seem to constantly have to say that they are pros. Do real pros feel the need to say that? Yes, they’re making a living from running (and I don’t begrudge them that - good on them), but getting money from ad revenue and having companies tap you up because you’re ’an influencer’ isn’t the same as being a pro. Bowden hides most of her runs on Strava as well - as if any pro would be that interested in what she is or isn’t doing. She just seems so fake to me, trying to portray this cool, fun persona, but actually I think she’s highly strung and just a pain in the ass.
They're probably paid more than most national level, and some world class, athletes. YouTube ad Revenue isn't the only source of income for runners. There's sponsors (both have primary sponsors in Oiselle and On respectively), secondary sponsors (Yummo! For Phily, LMNT for Ostrander). Still, I think the runner who paid the most in taxes yesterday: Kofuzi. Between the free travel, the free gear, the sponsored videos and posts, the ad revenue, the gear sales, the licensing, etc, he's got to be in the mid six figures!

Well this is one step up from their recent sponsorship from a Baltimore plumbing company. Robbe out there shaking all the trees, leaving not much time for running!
It's hard to put my finger on it. But there's something about her approach and the way she pushes beyond what her body has trained to do. Although a club runner, she didn't come up through the school or college system and only started to run "seriously" during lockdown. I saw a podcast once where she said she finished one marathon in an ambulance because of rhabdo (!) And then she got the infamous stress fracture in training for the Olympics (as did Fiona O'Keefe another Puma team athlete) and then finished the marathon on the fracture (although I'm not sure I wouldn't have done the same thing under the circumstances!). The rehab journey was a long road back, she's only done one race since, the NY half, and got stitch and a disappointing (to her) result. I'm just not sure she will sustain whatever got her the 2:23 in Chicago. So there you go. Gauntlet effectively thrown down.
By the way, speaking of females who "started running seriously in lockdown", my prediction for Anya Culling is that maybe she just about scrapes a sub 2:40. I think she's put a bit more effort in this block, as it's London and everyone's paying attention.

Kofuzi will be lucky to be making 6 figures at all. He is certainly not "mid"
You constantly over estimate this guy's worth. He'd turn up at the opening of an envelope for free. He's shown he will shill anything. He isn't picky. Companies won't be bidding higher and higher to get him to sell their gear. Honestly, he would sell Hugo Boss shoes if they paid for him to run Berlin
Another cracking video by crown my run with J Mills going for his first sub 3 attempt at Newport marathon.
Is there a better YouTube running channel that CMR right now? Deserves more subs.
Agreed. Crown My Run is brilliant and quite local to me. Love the way the passion and excitement build up over the video before abruptly finishing. Love the mini battles with other runners and classic schoolboy digs (Tesco Value vest).

Oh boy, here we go again with the 'Kofuzi is doing this for fun' nonsense.
Ko spells it all out in this interview @ 21:53. In order of revenue: #1 - Public appearances/travel, #2 - Ad revenue
He previously disclosed he made $60k in ad revenue last year. So...we're in the 6 figures.

CMR is the only running channel where I actually look forward to the next video. It’s proper entertainment.
I watch a few other creators occasionally but wouldn’t notice or care if they stopped making content.
I believe a separate SJD thread needs to be brought back as he is churning out content close to his glory days. I’m also concerned that there is not enough concern about the dubious health consequences and related poor racing performance caused by over buttering of one’s Bobo bars.

Agreed. Frankly, they should revive the old thread. Come on - this man is the fkn OG.
