I saw some huge drops in times from most competitors that I looked at from our area.. Most experienced 40-50 sec drops in their times from the week previously..Makes me suspect whether the course is a true 8k?
Do you understand the concept of fast and slow courses?
Also, when teams race back to back weekends, they usually do not rest for both races, or give both races an equal effort. How do you, as a college cross country runner, not understand this?

Just because it's fast, doesn't mean it's not a "true" 8K. Notre Dame is 5 miles and runs faster than most 8K races.
It's okay to be a noob sometimes, but just keep some things in your head next time.
DII and DIII :( wrote:
I get the sense that Flotrack doesn't care at all about DIII, and spends about 1/20th the time on the DIII rankings as they do on DI.
Maybe because D3 is as competitive as a 2nd tier DI conference?
Is Hussein really that good that he deserves 3 athlete of the week awards?

I'd give him 4.
Who else should have received it this weekend? It was pretty quiet in terms of D3 action, so it seems to make sense.
This weekend will be different with Pre-Nats.
Is this the year seven teams qualify out of one region?

Any serious challengers (D1 or D2) for the Hopkins women this weekend at the Disney Cross Country Classic?
Apparently not. They dominated.
unless the committee screws the Midwest like they did last year. Even though the Midwest could have brought 6-7 teams last year the egos of the committee was too large and biased to bring the BEST teams.
Just sayin'.

Congratulations. That was the worst analogy I have ever seen in my life. We are all stupider for reading it.
I will strike again. I will not stop my assault on your intelligence until even the Dean of Admissions at La Crosse snickers at your application. I will render you intellectually impotent, like a whale helplessly beached on the rocks of my analogies.
Only then, at the end of all things, will you know the truth.

Glad to see you putting that creative writing major to work Mr. Bosworth.
Amherst sucks

Considering what Stout did at Nationals, it seems like the committee made the right decision.

Have you seen the latest USTFCCCA rankings? It's bonkers. Amherst is good, but should not be 2nd place. They will not be 2nd come Nats time. The only saving grace in those polls is how tight the spread is from 1st through 5th place. Hopefully races this weekend will shake things up a bit as top contenders finally hit head to head at Pre-nats....
Should be a good race come November

It's true. Heard they're sponsored by a company that thinks 20mpw is high mileage.

Nah buddy. If you disregard Amherst's top runners, they have no one up there with them at the front of the race with their top runners. It's sad, really. There's never enough time to chew all the ice so I guess we'll see what happens when they head into pre-nats.
hey guys im from amherst and our team has a 3rd runner that can run 2530 and our 4, 5 is over 2540. we should be ranked number 1, not 2nd.
NESCAC has 7 in the top 31
WIAC has 4 in the top 31.
I think we now know the toughest conference in D3.
We are smarter, and faster.
And better looking.
Sorry.
