Football is a team game? Never knew that. Thanks man.

Your welcome.
Now that the regular season is almost over I guess we can answer the questions. Cowboys probably aren't the best team, but they are the hottest team in the NFL and have the best offense right now. Wilson is struggling mightily against the Rams D with only 38 yards, a pick, and a rating of 26, and the cards are down to the 49ers. If results hold the Packers get the 1 seed, Dallas gets the 2, and Seattle gets the 3.
Although I expect Seattle's D along with Marshawn Lynch to carry them to a W in the second half.
Dallas is good, but the Carolina Panthers are the hottest team right now.
Undefeated on the road during the regular season, knocking off a hungry Washington team today in DC. If they can avoid too many home playoff games, they will be UNBEATABLE. Take it to the bank!

Yea right.
The panthers haven't beat a winning team in months. They are sub 500. They scored 17 and 19 points their two games prior to this.
Dallas has won 6 of 7. Their last 4 games they have scored 44, 42, 38, and 41 points.

Well they'll have a home game in the first round against a team that can't win on the road against teams with winning records. That could be their only home game, so not too many.
Doesn't matter where Dallas plays. They are 8-0 on the road. They are 4-0 in December and are averaging 41+ points per game which leads the NFL. Their defense leads the NFL in takeaways in the month of December. Everything is clicking at exactly the right time for the Cowboys.
I'm not a Lions fan, but Cowboys vs Lions will be an interesting matchup. Lions have by far the best run defense in the NFL, so Cowboys will likely have to depend on Romo's arm alone which could get scary. Lions have the #2 (you could strongly argue the best) overall defense in the NFL as well.
Crazy things happen in the playoffs. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Cowboys flop at home under the pressure like they did on Thanksgiving day. Then Lions would play in Seattle & Packers get to play Cardinals or Panthers.

You can't read too much into that Thanksgiving game. Romo was still reeling in pain in his back and he was coming off little rest. Garrett's been smart in giving him a day off a week, and that Thanksgiving week Romo did not get that day off.
Romo had an off day as a result. Things have definitely changed since then. They are unstoppable and peaking right at the right time.

The playoffs are in January, not December.
It doesn't matter if the Lions have the best run defense, that offensive line is too good for anyone to stop without loading the box and allowing those receivers to get 1 on 1. Hence, 40+ points per game lately.
Not to mention Lacy was able to get free a number of times in the lions game
Suh is suspended, so that will leave a big hole in the Detroit defense. The Cowboys should beat the Lions, but the next game is likely to be @Green Bay... a rematch of the Ice Bowl 40-something years ago.
Q: Dallas Cowboys Best Team in the NFL?
A: No

Hard to say, but I think there are at least 3 teams better than them.
Seattle has won 6 straight and each game has been won by 10 points or more.
The Packers have won 7 of their last 8, including a win over the Patriots.
After getting blown out by Philly, Dallas' 4 straight victories have included wins over the hapless Bears and Redskins, a Colts team with a hangover from clinching their division and an Eagle team that imploded from the opening kickoff and Sanchez becoming Sanchez.
Detroit had the benefit of an easy schedule including one point wins over the Falcons and the Saints, a two point squeaker over the Vikings and home wins over the Bills and the Dolphins along with a sweep of the lowly Bears and they beat Tampa.
(That sweet schedule got them in over the Eagles)
Dallas should handle Detroit. (But playoff football is different, so...)
Then they would go to Green Bay and good luck with that.

So as long as Dallas doesn't win the super bowl you get to be the smartest guy on the board.

Awesome. Thanks.
