Rumor has it that Pengelly is transferring to U of I...so there goes their strong returning class.
Michigan Tech loses Lane to Colorado Mines, and pennegaly to some where. Hillsdale loses top 4.
Other than Gv every other team is fairly weak this season. It'll be a nice place battle
Ferris State has a solid core group returning. Hillsdale, Michigan Teh, and Ashland will be very inexperienced.
Hall/Knack/Cutler will be back for ashland who all competed at NCAA. The rest atleast have regional experience, but so does every other team. Although, I am interested in Ferris.

I thought Knack graduated - apologies. What does Ashlands incoming freshman class, and sophomore class offer? Same question to Hillsdale.
I think Ashland will be decent, barring injuries. Hall and Knack are a great start. Then guys like Cutler and Aubrey Jordan, who finished only 5 sec back of Windle and I believe was in their top 5 at several meets, can step up. Definitely a high quality recruit or two would help. But the team competition, after GV, should be very interesting.
Do we know anything about notable recruits going to GV, AU, and other top GLIAC schools?

Windle wasn't good at cross country
Windle finished 29th at GLIACs, better than most who competed there. Jordan was only 2 places back and was a SO. A top 25 finish at GLIACs wouldn't be out of the question, perhaps better. Runners can develop and improve you know. I'm talking about the ability to compete at the conference level. Most teams don't put 5 or more in the top 15 like GV can.

I guess U are right
With the GLIAC being weaker this could be a year that GV goes back to putting 5 in the top 7-8. I think they'll win or be close to winning NCAA's.
Bradley 14:10 5k JR
Panning 14:21 5k FR
May 14:22 5k JR
Flores 14:29 5k JR
Pageau 14:29 5k SR
Orndorf 14:36 5k JR
Cini 36th and 22nd at NCAAs SR
Mach 3:48 1500 SO
Perez 3:48 1500 SR

Wow. That is an impressive line up. With Adam's State having a " down " year, a national championship is not out of the question. Brady Selner and John Luterbach will be back for Grand Valley as well, yes?
Selner was in his SO season last year and finished in their top 5 at Nats so add him to the list. Lutterbach, as far as I recall, is out of eligibility.
Another guy to look out for is Simon Thorpe who ran 14:42 at the Hillsdale relays as a RS. In fact, GV also had several other runners not listed that put up good performances during track while a number of the top guys were injured or struggling. Very deep team.

Wow. Where do they get all this depth from? Unbelievable.
SVSU squad heads to Colorado for altitude camp today
I was going to put Mich. Tech in the top-3, but if it's true that Pengelly and Lane are both transferring then....
1. GV (with ~20 pts)
2. Malone
3. Ashland
4. Ferris
5. SVSU (good recruiting class from what I hear)
6. Hillsdale
7. MTU
8. Hillsdale
9. Walsh
10. LSSU
