Boys teams that I think will qualify for state from the D1 Southern section:
Arnold Beckman. Loses 4 seniors but still returns a 9:24 3200 average. Huge candidate to make NXN too.
Mira Costa. Took top 10 at the state meet in the merge twice in a row. With only two seniors gone, they should have no problem going back to state.
San Clemente. Many didn’t expect them to qualify last year after losing their top 6, but they proved them wrong. They are returning everyone this time, and should have a higher section / state meet finish this time.
Redondo Union. They lost 4 seniors from the state qualifying team, but they still return 5 guys under 4:30.
ML King. Had a disappointing outcome of not qualifying for state, but they still return 5 guys from their varsity squad including low stick Zavaleta.
Crescenta Valley. Consistent program that always reloads enough to find themselves at the state meet. They bring most of their guys back from last year.
Ayala. Disqualified from D2 section finals last year due to school size. Returns 7 guys under 10 minutes. We need to see how this team does under the new coaching staff.
We’re not even sure Bilodeau is transferring to Jesuit… it’s just a rumor rn
Connor Bilodeau Sit-out Period 2025-26 Two Participation Options for Cross Country, Track and Field: (1) Limited (Sub-Varsity Only) eligibility whereas the student-athlete may play immediately at the sub-varsity level but is not eligible for any varsity competition, including playoffs, this season. OR (2) Varsity eligibility with a sit-out period whereas the student-athlete must sit out until the specified date (Cross Country - 9/27/25, Track and Field - 3/28/26) before participating at the varsity level. Athlete has unlimited eligibility in all other sports. 08/08/2025
I’m curious. So you think someone affiliated with Jesuit reached out to Bilodeau? A student? Parent? Coach? You seem sure that they “cheat” so please share your thoughts.
Also, consider this. what if Bilodeau was asked to not return to his old school (Granite Bay)? Do you think Jesuit would pursue someone with that reputation?
Of hell even look at the Cervi-Skinner twins, completely shat the bed at NxN and not even getting all American status at that meet but both ran sub 13:50.
The Cervi-Skinners will be college teammates with Pretre next year. And Skandera the year after

There's literally no other reason why Bilodeau would transfer. GBHS has had a historically good program. Of course they're nothing crazy but they've always had consistent respectable teams. Connor was doing just fine there.
So yes I do believe someone from Jesuit reached out to him or he's simply just going to a typical "pay to win" school (like all private schools). Hence why private schools don't deserve to compete among public schools. They cheat the system and recruit kids whether you like it or not.

And there’s something that all private and public school are allowed to compete in: NXN

OK, so that’s actually fair…but it negates your charge of “recruiting.” If he “[is] simply just going to a typical ‘pay to win’ school”…well, that doesn’t qualify as recruitment in any sense of the word. Would you agree?

So in your opinion every single private school is cheating? Or just private schools that get a ton of transfers like Jesuit?

I have to laugh at this. A transfer. So what. Take a look at the California's Southern Section and see how many students athletes change schools.
One of the videos shows J Serra girls openly talk about their transfers.
I've been following this sport for 50+ years. Student Athletes transfer schools, it's part of life.
to be honest I am glad they got the transfer, they will need all the help they can get, finishing top 7 at nxn will be a big challenge. Hopefully they can pull it off. Jesuit OR got a huge transfer as well.
