Lol, US politics today is straight out of a comic book. The person someone like Biden will defeat has literally hijacked and is simped over by the GOP. What does it say about right wingers that they idolize Dump, who can be defeated (and has been defeated) by someone they claim is dementia ridden and poops his diaper all the time?

The difference is that this time is that Biden did everything but soil himself, and we really can’t be sure of even that.

Biden won in 2020 because he didn't campaign and the entire media worked 24/7 to lie about him being a moderate while demonizing Trump and blaming Trump for COVID.

Biden has a record to run on now and he's been a complete disaster and everyone being honest admits it.

And oh by the way, in the last 3 years he's fallen off the cliff mentally and isn't qualified to organize a garage sale at this point let alone run a country.

Newsom is extremely unpopular at the national level and is one of the poster children people use when they're trying to show how bad Democrats are at running things (Lightfoot being another poster child for that). Replacing Biden would Newsom would be a lateral move at best. I say this as someone who voted for Obama.

Funny you should mention that. It seems the evidence (Trump's reaction and the audio from his microphone) suggest that Trump had an unfortunate moment in the poop department during the debate.

Biden's border policy is probably what did him in. At the same time it might help, get millions of illegals to vote for you since you let them in the country.

Point one.. Yes it does matter because the family are the only people that can get him to step aside. There is no way for the Dems to just "move him on". If Obama and Clinton were to publicly come out and tell the donors to stop giving $$ until Biden withdraws, then you would see him go.

It takes a MASSIVE war chest of money to win any election. Every day he stays is one more day, one more week, this mystery candidate is missing out on fundraising.

I agree that he is incapacitated to the point that he SHOULD be forced out, but what I was thinking of was something even more serious like a stroke, heart attack, a debilitating fall.. something where he is bedridden or brain dead. Unable to walk or talk, while he struggles with that, he can kinda sorta still do those 2 things.

They could put the Clinton's on the case and have him get killed in a late night robbery where the robber forgets to actually rob the victim...

They both suck O.k. But if Biden is so great, why doesn't he know one person worthy of passing the torch to ? Birds of a feather flock together? Maybe he could recommend Jr. run like the Bush family did.

1) I never said Biden was on top of his game. Not once. Didn't imply it either. In fact I have said (before the debate) several times that he's too old to be President but that given the choice between him and Trump I would have to vote for Biden...and I would and still will do it gladly if Biden remains the Democrat candidate.

2) There was not good public evidence before the debate that Biden was anything but an old man who was never good at public speaking. FOX News lied in that one clip that he wasn't looking at parachuters, and he did do VERY well in the State of the Union address which was just a few months ago.

When Kamala pushes him aside this weekend what should we call it?

I don't know what will happen with Biden's candidacy. It seems it may be taking a turn towards an early end.

I'm a proud Biden 2020 voter, so I thought it might be apt to look back on his accomplishments a bit.

1) He's bringing industrial policy back! Generations of political leaders have thought that they can just outsource manufacturing, with disastrous consequences. Biden's biggest accomplishments center around reversing this trend. The Chips and Science act, the bipartisan infrastructure act, and the IRA (which mostly invests in domestic manufacturing and clean energy). If the US is a better place to live in 30 years, Biden will get a huge amount of credit.

2) Foreign policy. It's easy to forget how scary Russia was in early 2022. That changed quickly, mostly due to the Ukrainians, but with a big assist to the US and the Biden administration in particular. The US was more on top of the initial invasion than Ukraine itself was, and the crucial intelligence in the early stages was key to Ukraine's current survival. Whatever happens in Ukraine, I'm just glad that Putin hasn't taken Kiev and moved on to Poland. And I believe Biden has done a very good job with Afghanistan and Israel as well.

3) The economy. What happened to the Covid recession? Economists and pundits spent years predicting a big crash, and it simply never materialized. In fact, the economy has been really strong, with very low unemployment.

With all of this, there's a question of how much credit to give to Biden versus the rest of the government (his cabinet secretaries, the Fed, the CIA/military, even Congress for passing the legislative portion of the above). But regardless of how you parcel out the credit, the US government the past 3.5 years has worked far, far better than it had in previous decades. I think the president should get significant credit for this.

Anything economy related is anake oil. No economist is wortb a grain of salt. thet are like lawyers, you can always argue for the other side. its a futile debate.
