Rooks and Bor are already within the world ranking quota, but Corrigan is not. Will have to see whether the points from getting third boost him into position but it might actually be Jager heading to another Olympics.

The commentary on that race was a total joke. 2 minute commercial and then another 60 seconds on field events.
Precisely. This was as awful as ever. How do you cut all that from a final? Can you imagine missing Lebron's block against Golden State? Or a HR in the 7th of a World Series? Missing Bor's fall is a broadcasting disgrace. Until this changes, no one outside of LR posters will take this sport seriously. Fugh.
NBC coverage is for casual, intermittent fans. Everyone on Let's Run is annoyed by the coverage, yet watching. They know most of us are locked in. It shouldn't work that way, but it really does for the Olympics. That said, other sports (e.g., swimming) do better by their diehards.
That quote from the commentator, re: the Heptathlon. Paraphrased, "You can't win the heptathlon with a single event, but you can perform poorly enough to lose it in a single event."
I feel like I've heard that a million times over the last few years on these NBC broadcasts. Wonder if it's the same guy saying it every single time.
Why not just delay the feed by 10 minutes and edit the race if you're not going to show the whole thing. Why would you assume nothing would happen from minutes 2-6 of an 8 minute race?
