That's an important point of just how good a team needs to be if they want to be an NXN contender. In my opinion though, it is not realistic to think this year is going to be as good as last year. Last year's top 4 were all time greats, #'s 6,8,15 and 18 on the all-time Woodward park list. Having a 5 man team average 15:17 is a high bar. In 2022, take away NP, and the best individual time on the combined 2 other NXN qualifiers was 15:23. For reference GO's combined SR was 179.

Northwest and Midwest are exaggerating how stacked they are. South is actually stacked. Northeast is a mystery to me. Southeast is ok but not better than the California. Heartland, New York are not good at all.

At the most recent time trial their entire top 7 ran 9:35 with a 1 second spread. They are looking really good coming into this season with many underclassmen. They will be good competition for other California teams this year and up in the ranks for state! What do you guys think?
It wasn’t on the track. It was a course containing a little of the track. Also I know this because my son is friends with one of the runners at beckman and told me about the transfers and the time trial.

does your son know if those transfers are eligible to race at woodbridge or will they sit out?
One transfer is still moving so he doesn't know if he is racing but the other transfer nate horrocks has a sit out period and I believe he won’t be able to run woodbridge.

Once the transfers are eligible to race they should schedule at-least 1 out of state race. It could come down to a coin flip whether they are 2nd or 3rd in the merge. If they are 3rd in the merge, they need to have the resume of beating teams from 'better' regions to get the at-large. Racing just in state won't look so good if they are a serious contender. All the other top teams already scheduled races to other regions.
They could try Great American, Manhattan, or Nike Hole in the Wall
