A Korean guy has had his Boston video up for quite awhile.
There are many other videos that have been up for a while. I used to keep a list. I don't care anymore.
They probably didn't get the sarcasm of your videos and didn't like being made fun of. Or maybe their sponsors didn't like it, or both.
One final thing that bugs me about the ShoeTubers is that they make big events big but local races are still struggling four years out from the pandemic. It's a lot easier to run your neighborhood 5k than to run Boston. I wish they'd focus more on that. Ironically, those that do seem to be getting the most views.
All running shoes are good these day, with some better than each other. The real factor is price, they should be far far cheaper.
I have not problem with influencers, you just have to remember they are being pay to say good or non negative comments.
where I get annoyed with them is saying one shoe is comparable to another when it’s clearly not. For race shoes which one is the fastest for X distance for them at X pace, everything else about a shoe is is it comfortable.
seths magic eight ball scoring of 7.6, is probably the fairest of them all and then race in Nike vapourfly
so you know the costs involved to design, manuf & bring to market? oh, and what the profit margin is
Maybe Seth has just been misunderstood and Kofuzi is the actual villain. Has Seth ever begged for a bib? The BITR will get some flack on their Boston video for sure.
I could be misremembering this, but I remember a really old Seth vlog when he literally cold called the BAA to see if he could get into the race because he wanted to run that year's race but his qualifier(s) came after the registration deadline. It may have been for the Covid-cancelled 2020 race.
Shoetubers only do something if they get something out of it. If a brand can't hook them up then they're less likely to do it. Hardly any support local races.
Basically the problem with influencers is they've become stars, and expect to be treated like stars, but want the general public to still believe they're just regular people. It's why all influencer marketing (not just running influencers) is having a bit of an existential crisis.
That dichotomy is what really annoys me and I don't know how people don't see through it. It's like that guy who your friends hang out with who you know is really a douche but everyone else seems to like. Matt Choi gets special mention for me because several friends who are much more legit runners follow and think he's the man for being some kind of "hybrid athlete" grinding away and inspiring people. Maybe I'm just cynical but I like to think I have good BS detection and basically no shoetuber/Run-influencer passes the test anymore.

Seth actually tries to follow the rules. Generally he doesn't film much, if at all, during his races (unless he's blown up, and then he takes selfies of himself huffing and puffing on the side of the road or trail). He also hasn't run Boston last year, largely because he didn't have a qualifying time. He seems to want to register just like everyone else. (Seth might've been able to get into the American elite field this year, but that's just a reflection of how terrible that field is, but to my knowledge he didn't try). He does take the occasional free trip to launches but not as many as the rest.
He can be a little cringey in his videos but he's pretty responsible compared to the likes of Kofuzi and Believe in the Run.
Ethics from a guy who has put many lives in jeopardy from his ridiculous car stunts? A guy who could’ve killed himself by going into the mountains with no real mountaineering experience beyond running? Yeah the difference is Seth doesn’t have the personality to be like Kofuzi. If he did your damn right he’d do whatever it takes to make the money. Remember hawking tape and taking all the profits from a virtual race when there was no need for a virtual race?

Wait, what? Seth's personality easily outshines Ko-snoozie's, who honestly is so effing boring and vanilla that I don't understand how someone can sit through one of his livestreams let alone a shoe review.
I do agree that the car antics were out of line, and his disregard for safety was disappointing to see (though to be fair, that only affects him and his family, not innocent bystanders).

Mostly but SAR will be called if he messes up or something happens beyond his control.

How many half assed marathon blocks has Matt Rees done now? Dude peaks at like 110km, then runs 50km the next week, then 80km, then 50km again and calls it a marathon block. I didn't expect much, I thought he would start at 2:24 pace then blow up again and run a 2:28 high but 2:33 jeez.
Do what you want, but don't make a youtube series about marathon training when you can't even be bothered to string 2 consecutive weeks together lol. No z2 aerobic long runs either, just what we would call 'hero' sessions...very poor from a coach. Wish the guy would wake up, he has/had potential to run much faster than this if he didn't train like a 14 yo.
