The issue all these people complaining about people not having results is that most schools don’t care about the results it’s about the kids being happy, not complaining and maybe fundraising… again the vast majority of programs don’t care about results there’s more to being a coach at most colleges than getting good results… The programs that consistently win/podium, maybe top 10 at nationals care about results the rest of them care about happy kids and parents and title 9.
And there’s the problem. Making our sport a participation sport isn’t how it should be. I’ve coached enough athletes to tell you the majority them do not feel this. They want to happy of course who wouldn’t want to be it’s sport, but to say at the expense of not caring about results it doesn’t need to be one or the other they can co-exist. It’s the coaches fault if they don’t. The culture you create, you push them you make it tough but you also listen to them let them have some stake in their success. Be flexible, and understanding and they’ll want to run through a brick wall for
You. Don’t violate title 9, have a good relationship with parents and your athletes will trust you and they will care about the results, more then you will care about them
