I suspect you are well aware of the scale of wealth we are talking about here. The resources available to the Clintons and Obamas, either directly or indirectly--and consequent power thereof--are minute in comparison to the oligarchs of whom I am speaking. The power to make war or to withhold that war is about the only card left to the US government at the moment. It's ability to regulate its economy for the greater good has been handed over to a small class of individuals. I can't see why a conservative would even disagree with me here because presumably this is the world that they wish to have. The nation states that are still functioning independently from the 1% at the top of the heap--Germany for example--are teetering on the edge. Probably within 15 years we will have a truly international oligarchy operating a fully transnational syndicate with limited free press and workers' rights. I see little reason to believe this will not come to pass.
