It's interesting that that mass of typical verbal dogsh** from Trump is the essentially the exact same thing as I can imagine some glossy promotional brochure or video about Trump University (or any other Trump product). Transparent crap layered on top of transparent crap, and people still buy it.
At this point, you have to wonder what would have happened had Trump not gone on his whole tariff escapade. The economy coming out of the Biden admin had a lot of momentum, so much so that it has been able to withstand the shocks from the Trump tariffs (and disruptions in labor markets from ICE raids, etc.). If Trump just had his trade reps quietly negotiate deals without all the tariff nonsense and did his big tax cuts/slash regulations, economic growth would have probably accelerated and the markets would be much higher. Only issue would then have been whether this would have been inflationary, which is not clear.
Instead, the markets are just doing a "keep calm and carry on" routine. Businesses have been able to manage tariffs by balancing price increases with taking a hit on profits. And on the consumer level, things are pretty crazy. I saw the price of my favorite sparkling water go up by a dollar for a eight pack of cans. There was a news story that had the maker attribute the price hike to tariffs on aluminum. Then, a few weeks later, it was on a buy two get one free sale. The guy at the grocery store said that when the price went up, people stopped buying the soda and they had to put it on sale. But all these whipsaws are not sustainable. Eventually companies will have to answer to investors and either take losses or scale back production and raise prices. But this didn't have to happen at all.
It’s almost like steering the world’s largest economy by narcissistic impulse and the wisdom of Ron Vara is not sound strategy.
I just wish we had some type of indicator that Trump might not be as smart as he claimed in economics before he was elected.

As we look at Trumps long list of business failures and bankruptcies, can you see anything that most all of them have in common?
Look very closely and you will see it.
Yeppers, Maybe Mango Mussolini might have had a better track record of success if he was not so damn enthralled with himself and his name. Maybe a couple of these businesses might still be around if this azzhat named them something else.
Ah, who am I kidding. The law of ETTD is not to be denied.
TACO Trump has relied on some industries (like cars) having temporary smaller margins due to tariffs. but that will end soon
Well son, if you mean ending in 3 1/2 years is soon, then you will have about a 5% chance. Maybe less. There are not even enough whackos in CA to get you the popular vote at this point. You guys travelled a very dark road this last decade.
And how would the great Ronald Reagan fare in a Republican primary today?
He’d do fine. He was a celebrity (like Trump). He was a Democrat early in his life. He allegedly had some affairs with some leading ladies (not one to be outdone, Nancy, herself, was rumored to have had an affair with Sinatra). There are actually a lot of similarities between the two.

Raegan knew who he was and said it so…a common trait with Conservatives.
On the other hand, Liberals put up fake Indians, fake soldiers and now a fake black person about to be mayor of NYC.
Liberals embrace everyone but those who embrace truth.

There are no similarities between Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump.

He'd ONLY be fine if he had no principles and no spine. Not because he might have had a few autobiographical similarities.
Current GOP, by and large: Su** DJT's d** 90-100% of the time, or you're out. That simple.

No, at least one: Reagan apparently had many younger R's pretend that they were conservative and support him. Those same people got older, supported Trump, and still had the gall to claim that they were (or ever were) actually conservative.
Any R that supported Reagan and supports Trump was faking it the first time....and the second.
On the off chance that Musk has the files on Epstein, would you hope that he dumps that into the public domain, or not?
Seriously curious.
The right was screaming for that only a few months ago.
No responses. My guess is that they would really want it if it implicated some high level democrats and not Trump. But since they know it would implicate Trump, they don't want it. OR they would be fine with it if it was obviously edited to remove Trump, ie. blacked out text. Then they could pretend it was part of some nefarious democrat conspiracy that Bondi, Patel, Bongino and Trump himself were powerless to stop despite having all the source documentation.

Safest bet, regardless of the revelation: Trump's supporters will NEVER stop disappointing us.
What is it about slave labor that makes you embrace it?
You are pro-slavery because your Lord Trump wants this ... send American citizens to farms, to live and work for $10 an hour ... during the next elections in a way that they cannot vote because they are not living at their own home ... no known address at the out of state plantations.
