The job is actually still posted… they haven’t even begun interviewing, had lots of applicants… it’s a UC that care even less than cal about athletics so it will take a while, looking like maybe mid November at best!
"The administration" notified people they liked (some who sent in applications from the previous listings). If they wanted to remain under consideration for the gig, UCSB HR would get back to them about a month from now. So that timing looks like they're targeting a post-XC winter hire for indoor/outdoor track.
Any info on the BGSU posting? Looks like they're looking for a low level assistant coach. Are they hiring a person to take over the men's team?
“Low level assistant” What about that phrase makes you ask if they’re looking for someone to lead the men? This thread is getting harder and harder to take seriously.
My GA position paid a $1500 stipend, tuition and gave me a run down dorm. I was grateful for the opportunity to break into college coaching. Head Coach allowed me to work a part time job that didn’t interfere with training and I had an entire event group I had to develop. My days were 4am-noon work, 1pm meetings, 2-6pm training, 6-8 admin/recruiting, and sometimes 8-10pm study hall. Used the weekends for school work.
This is not a glamorous job but if you put in the work and don’t complain, then some doors for advancement might open up. (NETWORK) But even then there is no guarantee
