This thread has become incredibly lame since K5 went into hiding.

How long until it is allowed to fade off into a respectable death?

Yes, I really hope for a sell off. I don't make much money when the market is high. I love the crashes so I can buy cheap stock. However, I fear that this Bull market will go on for 10 more years.

Down 135 so far today, just before lunch. Gold has tracked the dive.

Nice way to try to influence the market. This dip is like bringing a shovel to the top of a mountain. I am hoping for a much bigger market drop. I have not moved any money out of the market but want the market to drop so the money I invest is invested low.

I took some of the cash I had on the sidelines and bought VOO earlier today. But I still have about 8% in cash waiting....

I think you are right. I am a buy-the-dips kind of guy. I like to buy things on sale and I am starting to back up the truck with this recent dip.

I got out in September, 2011. I expected that drop to go further and have been waiting on it, but it seems that my fears at the time were misplaced. Oh well, I didn't lose money since I wasn't short (just in cash & short-term bonds)... just lost out on some profits if I'd been in.

It's pretty clear this bull market is just getting going. There is a lot of negativity and everyone is predicting a big drop. That's when I like to buy stuff... when the blood is flowing in the streets.

I'm about 80% invested in stocks now (was at 10%). Looking to get to 100% if this panic drop continues.

ja, I am not enjoying my investment go around with bloody gold.

gold is 0.109% of my portfolio. It is part of my fun money portfolio, which is around 7% of my portfolio. Most of the fun money portfolio is small cap stocks that follow Joel Greenblatt's little book that beats the market strategy.

My fun money portfolio has pretty much tracked world stocks over the past year so it's just entertainment for me.

Will it break 17 again today?
