CNU (Christopher Newport University) Throws/ Assistant coach will be open.

Where did John go?

CNU loses another great assistant? It's like the school is a magnet for successful coaches before the HC pushes them away. What does this make like ten coaches he's gone through or gotten rid of?

Actually CNU assistants seem to typically stick around for a reasonable amount of time.

Um, Braden left because there wasn't a future there...all they wanted was someone who would take the job for low pay and no scholarship.

Obviously you have never coached. Great profession but when you're done, there are a million reasons to be done.

What's the over and under on this coaches stay? I'll open the bidding at 2 years-maybe more like 1 when he finds out that the bulk of the $$ is going to international distance runners. Could be more if he can consistently score great jumpers from Europe.

He hosted juco national cross country and was unhappy after the school kept all the money and didn't put any of that money back into his program. They're slated to host juco outdoor track nationals this coming year and he didn't want to go thru that again. Also their academic advisor got their indoor track program put on probation (thrower dropped below 12 hours and enrolled in late start classes) and the school refused to appeal after NJCAA changed the rule, Butler didnt want to lose the $300 appeal fee. Turner wasn't happy about that and decided to walk away. He'll be ok, owns a mattress business and six rental properties including a $450k modern home in downtown okc. He recommended Mettler for the position.

OK, I get it. Who is the new coach and how is their XC program?

He will need to recruit some european jumpers if he wants to stay competitive at that conference. Really? Because there is no salary record for him, but there is for the other coaches on staff
