This thread was originally titled, "Incredible development in the $612,000 Transcon Goodge run, currently ongoing" but the new title is more descriptive. The description of the run is here.
A walking mile is 120spm and takes 16 mins. That's 1920 steps.
A quick mile is 180spm at 10. That's 1800 steps.
But 793,516/847.2 is 936 steps per mile.
Cue Sneakers to blast in and tell us we can't read.
Anyone else find it odd that Street Ferret completely stopped posting about this effort after day 7? Surely they can tell from the data he's lying to people and are squeamish.
The sudden pivot to "Running across American to raise money for mental health" from him previously starting a daily post saying "Running 75 miles a day for 40 days across America" comes off as gross to me.
The tried and true method of using a charity as a fallback once you get completely exposed as being unable to accomplish a goal always comes off as icky. It would be different if he had discussed team RWB with more than a passing thought prior to the start but he really didn't.
This was billed as "Running 75 miles per day for 40 days". What we've received is 2 days of 75 miles or more and 13 days of 65 or less.
nobody in the running community ever thought this was remotely possible. I doubt even PJ did.
was a nice marketing gimmick though…it got your attention. does it matter if he’s not breaking a record? his legion of instagram followers certainly won’t care. just completing the transcon will be enough for most.
but don't you think it's odd that his cadence is 0 for most of the last 4 miles yesterday with his heart at 76 83 83 90?
Not that it really matters what you think as the cat seems to be out of the bag. Not just willvlc you have to muzzle by any means. This is turning into a game of whack-o-mole for you sneakers
Let me prove you have just put your foot in your mouth again with a full download of the 1 second interval data, just like I proved Cockerell completely wrong with his claims of PJ speeding up hugely at the end of the day.
The day you are referring to is 2024-03-15 with the Strava link
You directly claim his cadence is "0 for most of the last 4 miles". You are completely wrong. You once again did not listen to me and just made your heinous accusation of PJ from the simplified Strava graphs that I told you repeatedly not to do. Below is a graph of the full 37732 points of data from PJ's Strava for that 2024-03-15 day showing that for the last 2.5 hours of the day, the recorded cadence value in rpm was oscillating many times between 0 and 65 rpm, something you simply cannot see in the Strava graphs because of how much data chops off:
Further more, a speed line plot for the whole day using the 37732 1 second interval data shows that PJ did not speed up at all near the end of the day compared with the rest of the day. In fact, for the last 2.5 hours PJ was mostly walking at about 3.5-4 mph with only about a half hour of total time where he was running at about 5 mph during that period. Not anywhere close to the enormous speeds that you, Cockerell, and others have been accusing PJ of.
And if we looks at the histogram of PJ's speed for the entire day, it was all pretty much 6 mph and under with the vast, vast majority of it either walking or resting as indicated by the all the bars from 4.5 mph and below in the histogram.
this doesn't answer why the heart is in the 70s or 80s or the cadence at 0 for several kms. It's all hot air and total misdirection and useless charts. There's a 13 and 14 min mile toward the end [38 & 39] when most of the last five hours were 15-17. That's acceleration, and for you to deny it is simply graphic lying, and you call us heinous!!
Everyone over all the channels is talking about the 0spm between 63.6 to 65.2km. We're not blind.
The stepcounter by streetferret will be a bug, it's their calculation and they need to double it. Fine - that's sorted. Still doesn't account for all the cadence wipeouts which don't occur for others in this extreme manner like this, or even Johnson for the March 13 & 14 or his first two days. Why the massive discrepancies in his dailies?

Once again, you have absolutely no clue what you are doing looking at the simplified Strava graphs. You are absolutely wrong on everything. PJ's cadence was not "0 for several kms" at the end of the day. And he did not speed up towards the end of the day as I have clearly showed in the speed line plot of the full data download. Furthermore, you think a 13-14 min mile vs 15-17 min mile at the end of the day that did not occur is an acceleration the indicates "cheating"? That's barely even running pace.
I can tell what you just wrote that you still have no idea how to download the full data from PJ's Strava? Do you need me to teach you again?
naah call it a score draw please. It doesn't matter that 13 min miling is still slow, it was an acceleration, that's the rub, and coincides with crashing heart and cadence.
Let's move on, much more to look at, so many themes at play. The lying, the bravado, the arrogance, the premature quit, the false promise of 60s, the injury, the refusal to dnf, the strange Choi intervention, and the huge elephant in the room: the hard stop of 55 days, which they have no hope of getting...

Your wave of a white flag has been denied. Do you concede you are absolutely wrong about everything you just said looking at the simplified Strava graphs? I have plenty more detailed data to prove everything you say now and in the future is wrong.
I deny your denial of my denial. You have 90% of the community to persuade - good luck with that.
Post the links to the Strava of the others in the "community". I can do what you are doing to PJ to the others and show how they are all cheating from their Strava graphs.
PJ, WG and RBs data are all immaculate outside their fundraising, influencer stunts. But in stuff like this they go haywire for some reason. Ok, let's take a random PJ long run, 21 Jan. Show me the massive and prolific cadence cut outs. of course there are none. Three tiny brief walks in 6 hours, otherwise he just moves as one would expect.

I'm not taking about PJ's training runs, I'm talking about your Strava. Post some links to your Strava uploads from your ultras and races and I will show you cheated by looking at the simpified Strava graphs.

PJ finally addressed the comments regarding cadence drop out on IG today.
He said “you idiots don’t even know how to download the strava data even though I’ve explained it to you hundreds of times.”
Just kidding. He actually showed the cadence chart from the mobile version of strava and said “look, the chart bottoms out at 110, therefore my cadence has never been 0.”
