Three different colours of shoes up front. 1 x Next%, what are the pink and blue shoes?
Mazuranek now 6th but over 2 min. back, Salpeter 50 seconds back in 5th.
Groner up to 7th. Unreal.
Groner hanging in there in 8th, Dimhoff dropping, now in 12th.

she likely won't catch up, but i've followed her for a while and she always closes the final 10K strong
I only put a little money on one person for this race, because championship marathons area a cr@pshoot, especially in the heat, but 5-1 on Kiplagat still holding out hope.
Hoping no one gets hurt over these next 40 minutes. Salpeter a minute back. Top 4 consistent. Chelimo looks fine. Got to now like her chances.

Lead pace remains steady and nobody in the lead pack looks like they're struggling that hard yet
at least one of the leading group will drop off
Salpeter probably DNF?
I think I saw Salpeter laying on the course getting help from outside. Race over. Trying to close a huge gap all by herself costs a lot more energy than just sticking with the pack since the start.
Kiplagat is the one running the smartest race so far, and the two others who followed her all the way through. Salpeter and Chepngetich both made big mistakes.
Making Top-10 is rather important . . . auto-qualifier for Tokyo
Don't see Salpeter out there now? Mazaronek (Belarus) 5th? But way back
It is so humid. I stood up. Walked 20 feet to cheer for Kelsey. Then sat back down. My wife facetimed me and said "you're sweating."
Then a woman completely collapsed 50 feet from us. It looked really bad when she was on ground. I didn't see her go down but she looked motionless on ground to me. She wasn't trying to get up or move or anything. Fortunately some medical/team people ran over to her almost right away. Those who saw her go down said she just slumped almost backwards to ground. Once they got her in wheelchair she was responsive.

Blue is the 4%, pink is a new next% colorway
Yep, Salpeter has gone.
They are saying Groner is now closing in on 6th...holy

Groner might be the first American to make the 2020 Olympic team... wow.
