Don't you understand? They don't have the fitness to run faster than this. That's why it was a world lead and that's why Mo won. This was as fast as a championship 10k we're likely going to get for a long time. Find something new to complain about.
Cheptegei and Tanui still finished impressively strong after going with most of the surges. I don't understand the logic behind the surging. I think when somebody goes to the front, they get overexcited and run a 61 instead of trying to sustain ~63 second pace.

The last 600 was only 2:29, not that fast. This shows that the moderately fast pace, though not fast enough, was much better for the rest of the field than a slow one. Had the race been 10 seconds faster, the results could have been different.

Mo did try to run a fast 10k at Pre a couple years ago and struggled. He's just not built for time trialing. He looked so much better today in a championship race than he did at Pre where he ran slower.

The guy has just won his 3rd 10k track gold in a row and celebrated doing a lap of honour with his 4 kids in front of a packed stadium of thousands cheering him.
He's also never failed a drugs test btw.
Let us not forget that he is one of the best Dopper with the help of british athletics federation. All the conspiracy to bring the 10k at the lowest level for the last 5 and six yr to discourage east african works perfectly as most of the talented athletes from kenya and ethiopia shift to marthon
Hassan looks very ,very strong, and just sat in the back for most of the heat. There is more definition in her upper body, and her demeanor is more assertive. We could be looking at a mo Farah breakthrough for her.
Semenya looked relaxed ( I'm not a fan) . Faith looked strong, and even Dibaba looked relaxed and comfortable.
I'm going with Dibaba or Hassan, the Ethiopians all the way. Muir doesn't stand a chance, and even though faith looks good, she hasn't been running well.
This is the most talented 1500 race of all time, and its unfortunate that there can only be one winner.
Seldom have I seen so many shining wits - I may have mixed up my initial letters there.
Semanya is ruining the sport. Transgenders should have to compete as men, or have a separate league for them.

I believe the USA has one dude that ran 26:44 and another that ran 26:58 for 10K, GR and CS.
Maybe that is the fastest NA mark in a championship race.
I believe the poster meant to say "in this race, Mo Ahmed was the top North American"

Or there are complaints that he hasn't run as fast as other great Olympic champions. While I agree this is true, who cares! He runs to win! Did Americans snub centrowitz when his 1500 last year was the slowest winning time? No and nor should they! Great runners know it's about the place, not the time. Who cares what he runs, the whole field is trying to beat him and they collectively and individually Cannot do it. My hats off to mo. A great run, yet again.
I'm not complaining about his tactics or disputing his ability. He's obviously amazing and among the best distance runners ever. That display today was unreal. However, I do fault him for 2 things: 1. Never truly chasing fast times in the 5k/10k and more importantly 2. He went from running with Matt Tegenkamp in major championships to blowing everyone out of the water in a matter of 2 years in his late twenties. Yes, I am heavily implying drug use, but you're naive if you don't at least acknowledge it as a strong possibility.

You are probably trolling, but just in case you don't understand the difference between transgender and intersex:
Caster Semenya is NOT transgender. She was born female, and continues to identify as female.
Caitlin Jenner is transgender. She was born male, and now identifies as female.
When Caster Semenya was born, the doctor said "it's a girl!", just like for your sisters, your daughter, maybe you too if you were born female. She was raised as a girl, and has identified as a woman for her whole life. It is likely that she only discovered her gender difference when she failed to get her period as a teenager. I agree that intersex athletes, Semenya and the others, are ruining the 800m and now possibly the 1500m, but this is NOT a transgender issue.
