What we've been calling "yuppie" really means yogger

/gallowalker/penguin/human.

What we've been calling "blue collar" is a machine dedicated to betterment, "snowing? so what?". regardless of economic background most of us are "BCR"

i like this thread, I hate all the yuppies at the fleet feet store in my area.

YR: 25-40 yr old male who lives in the city, has all the high tech running gear, a gym membership, cross trains, goes to therapist, watches his protein intake....

BR: crazy ass old white guy you see running everyday, most YR's stare at him and are drawn away from him. He doesn't notice YR's and has a weird almost perverted grin on his face as he runs. He posts on letsrun at the local public libary because he really doesn't care for computers.

I hate those yuppies runners.

YR: has to have the next model of the asics kayano even if his shoes are alright. Shops at Fleet Feet Sports

BR: buys his shoes online to save money.

White trash: Salvation army, redwing boots, walmart, bare foot in the mud after wrestling with the pigs

? – The very definition of a “yuppie” is an affluent, well educated individual living near or in a large city – a social climber. It has everything to do with how much money you have/make, your job, what clubs you belong, car you drive, etc. I am sure it could be viewed as approach, but it is really a division among classes or more importantly, one that wants to be divided – they want to be a member of the ‘haves,’ not the ‘have-nots.’ Calling someone a yuppie or blue collar is a generalization!

It's more about the game. Money is just a way of keeping score.
