Excuse the Ashland boys, they aren't happy people know ahead of time that they aren't gonna make it.

Which four teams will make it out of arguably the second most difficult region? ( GLIAC and GLVC conference )
Here are my observations:
It is a blazing fast, flat course.
USI has home advantage, but they always seem to under perform a little at regional and nationals. They have been rolling well since the first race of the year. Will it continue? With how strong those top 2 are though, there's no way they will not get out - although I wouldn't be shocked to see them fall to 3rd.
GVSU is just so deep they will win even if they have an off day. They also have the front runners to really score low. Chances are they will just try to cruise through as easily as possible.
Obviously Malone and Ashland are really close, as evidenced by the GLIAC results, but I fear my eagles will have a tougher transition to the 10k than Malone, whose squad is made up of 5k/10k specialists. I fear that having Windle as the 5th man in a 10k could be problematic. Then again, Tom Scott for Ashland in 2011 went beast mode as an 800 specialist to get top 20 at the region, so it can be done.
Hillsdale and UWP are both very solid and if either of them are REALLY ON, they can take the 4th spot.
Predictions:
GVSU
Malone
USI
Ashland
UWP
Hillsdale
Such a solid, deep region this year. Wouldn't it be great it USI didn't choke every year at NCAAs and this region could actually get 5 deserved teams out?

This must be Alan Peterson, who made it abundantly clear at the finish line of GLIAC that he is a gigantic tool.
Yea Alan is such a douche.
What did Alan Peterson do at the finish line? Solid post, Ole Ashland Eagle. I second that all.
I think there could possibly be three Midwest teams in the top 9 to get three extra spots for next year. It would've been 5 this year had USI not choked.
Pretty good picks olde ashland eagle.
Are they still allowing part time students to train with the team during their part time semesters? That's always been a great gig. Train with the coaches and team for 12 semesters...now that's dedication on both the coaches and the athletes.
USI didn't "choke" in 2013. Pence was top 20 with 400 meters to go and passed out. They would have been 6th/7th range if not for that. Great results for the entire Midwest Region on Saturday. Clearly the best region in DII.
Completely agree. Now all we need is for D2 to realize how much deeper regions like the Midwest and South Central are than the South and Southeast so the overall field can get more competitive. It really wouldn't surprise me if there were teams that ran at Nationals that couldn't even be top 15 in the Midwest region.
2, 9,10 at nationals. Gliac is fast as heck!
2015 gliac xc : Baum with the obvious win if they allow wheelchairs to enter
Dani miller will win on the men's side

1-5 = ?
1. Gvsu
2. Malone
3. Ferris state
4. Ashland
5. Wayne state
6. Hillsdale
7. Lake Superior state
8. Michigan Tech
Individuals? 2014 GV redshirts probably will be competing at top this yr. Ashland is pretty sunk.
GV is going to be loaded. Malone and Ashland are losing quite a bit. With Hillsdale also without I believe their top 4 from last year's race the conference is wide open. Michigan Tech might be able to break into the top three. Not sure about incoming runners. Will make a prediction later.
