Christian Hesch doping article in the NY Times/Competitor.com

The funny thing is, I've never heard of this guy before. My girlfriend and I follow running pretty closely, and when i mentioned it to her she said, "who's that?"

The biggest problem I have is that he's totally convinced himself that it was okay. He's totally rationalized his behavior and would not have fessed up unless he was caught. I think it speaks to society, on a larger scale, but I'm getting way off target here.

The more posts on this thread, the more the spolight shines on this douche. Which is what he wants. he was looking for the spotlight and thought cheating was the way to find it. So he'll get a 2-year ban. Who's to say he won't show up at some race offering some $$ and sign up as someone else?

Dont act like you dont try to piggyback on anything you can just for attention. You are just like Hesch. You jump at the opportunity to represent athletes anytime there is controversy just to get your name out. You may not dope, but you are just as big of a dope as Hesch.

That's a big misrepresentation and no I do not know, nor am I acquainted with Jon Little. Your comment was petty.

I'm not suggesting that a mid level player in a fledgling sport would leave his name off the customs sheet (along with the drugs he's taking) because he's nervous about being recognized by the border patrol. I assume that when someone is going to great lengths to hide what they're doing that they'd rather not sign documents- anywhere- that essentially say "My name is Christian Hesch and I am bringing x vials of EPO into the country."

You need to do a much better job in picking your friends. Hesch has always been a selfish piece of shit. So are others that you seem to hold close. Jon Gugala is the least ethical jack ass in your business and yet you seem to be in lock step with him. Molly Priz has made herself the least liked person in Boulder after her domestic abuse case. You seem to look past these things and appear to be constantly working PR for them.

I felt sorry for you when reading how this Hesch thing went down. I am telling you you need to be careful who you call friends. These people make you look bad.

This whole story does not make sense. If the vials were full, why were they in a gym bag or jacket and not refrigerated? If the vials were empty, why didn't he just deny it? It's been confirmed that he did not come clean on his own so surely he would have denied if that was an option. Also, who gives themselves injections while driving? NOBODY! EPO users keep their goods at home and are very sly about its use. Either this story is crap or he wanted to get caught. Possibly both.

I think I saw him at the American River Bike Trail in Sacramento today. The guy looked like him from head to toe, and was also running fast. We had a stare down.

Even if it wasn't him, I was tempted to give him the finger for just looking like Christian Hesch.
