Well it looks like you are still following the thread and posting "no more respect." He has peaked your interest even more in my opinion.

Joe Mac is a bada$$ who knows his strengths and potential better than any of us, and he has a pretty sweet personal goal that really isn't even getting in the way of his day to day training anyway.

I only share my writing with people because I usually get a, once you get past the cussing, it is funny and inspiring, response. My friends that I have shared my writing with enjoyed it so I let them into my life a bit.

With this on Lets Run now I have realized that most people cannot run a five minute mile, let alone a 6 minute mile on thirty miles a week which is fine. If I can push or inspire just one person to maybe pick up the last few minutes of their run, or go out on that day that they maybe would have taken off than the log is worth it.

I got a phone call from a guy I run with from time to time, he is nearly 80. A few years back I bumped into him on a run and just chatted him up, as is my nature. Before I moved from New York I ran with him once a week at about 10-12 minute pace and truly enjoyed it. In any-case, he said that I have inspired him to pick up his pace in the last five minutes of each run (probably from 12 minute pace to 10 minute pace) which is awesome. That is why I write and that is why I share it with those that want to read.

So if it is inspiring, gives you a laugh, a break from life, reality....or whatever, read it. If you do not enjoy reading it or have negative things to say, or do not believe it is real....dont be an ass and come on here wasting your time and mine being negative (riling me up) and ruining it for myself and others.

Please continue with the productive/ meaningful criticism though.

Thanks to all for the overwhelming support on this, I truly appreciate it. It makes it that much easier on a solo, dark, damp day when I don't feel like running let alone hammering a mile at the end of my run.

Somewhere in that 3 or 4 post rebuttal, Joe Mac achieved the POD...post of the decade.

Joe's honest, real, and conviction hardened words are what make this thread, his blog, and even this task so memorable. Coming here today, I feel like this thread is a victory of sorts against the usual Letsrun garbage that deteriorates into dribble with everyone attacking everyone else. Even most of us in Joe's defense (and Joe himself) are at least rational and empathetic with our arguments. This proves that this website is capable of functioning without the childish name-calling and constant refusal to compromise and understand. Right now I feel like I'm living a made for TV Christmas Special, but goddamn, God Bless Joe Mac and all his followers!

I don't know what happened yesterday. Joe Mac said there was a ton of snow where he lived and was a little worried about it. Haven't heard from him since then so who knows. But he was attempting it, which means he probably did it.

Maybe I'm just being pessimistic ... but yesterday was the first day since the streak started that joemac didn't post by the end of the calendar day. The pursuit has been fun to follow, so I hope it's still there to be followed.
