yeah, except this year the region is gonna be WAY tougher than last year.

I know. I was just making a point that you can never really tell whose going to place where in the region by the first meet and to not count out teams till you have better list of results and facts to use in your predictions.

Any way I am just pumped the season has finally come at last and we can start to have some real predictions on this thread and not just speculation.

Edinboro will probably sweep the top 5 and take 7 of top 10. Geneseo's A team would be lucky to put any sort of pressure on them. It will be a good race among the other schools though

edinboro is good but not that good if Williams and Novaro

are running then Edinboro will not sweep. Dont forget about Mount Union either.

Also, NYU opens at Monmouth in NJ. Last year they opened this weekend at Marist, looks like they didn't run everyone (and the top guys that did run might have done it as a workout... i.e. Schnieder 16:33 for the 5k), but they did run Schnieder and Maher so we might see something out of their top guys this weekend.

Ithaca has their alumni race. Let's see if they can take down their alumni team this year.

The season is finally here. Awesome.

Without a doubt. Cortland only loses 2, Geneseo 1/2?, SLU 1, NYU 1. The top 4 return almost their entire squads.

I bet it will be cortland because of how the track season went for them last year. They will still be at least top 5 in the region, I just dont see them being able to take the top spot in the region.

Geneseo will not run to there potential as usual, but still run good enough.

NYU will take top spot in the region.

SLU will have an averge season and come 4 or 5.

Plattsburg will falter this year and not make top 5 because of heavy losses.

This covers last years top 5.

Don't understand the 'lol'.

The way I see it is the top four, as stated above, are quite solid in their standing. I think the battle for the 5th spot will be pretty intense between (in no order):

RIT - all depending on this whole grad student situation

Plattsburgh - is the 'ben jackson not returning' thing official yet? if he is they're the front runner for the 5th spot, if he's not they're still in the mix

Fredonia - Williams and Novara both ran some serious times last season but faded toward the end, plus the now junior class progressed impressively last season.

Ithaca - Don't know much about them. They return 5 of 7 according to their roster. Always seem to do well.

TCNJ - Another school I don't know a whole lot about. Return a great top guy and always are dangerous.

if you were 'lol'ing because the above poster counted out plattsburgh and didn't mention tcnj and ithaca, then okay. otherwise you lost me.

PS - Hamilton is a team I wouldn't count out quite yet either. Return 7 of 7. 5 seniors, 2 juniors. And they practically only score 4 guys.

I was lol-ing because it seemed he was saying fredonia or RIT were going to off set one of the top 4.

what I meant to say was that I think RIT or Fredonia will get 5th spot. But thats just my opinion.
