U.S. Recon Marine/Navy SEAL vs. UFC Fighter: Who Wins?

UFC fighters lift weights in a gym everyday, drink protein shakes, wrestle and learn jujitsu, and then compete. A navy seal spends over a year of training just to get accepted. They spend hours wet and cold in freezing water, full of sand, sleep deprived, and fighting on. only 30 percent on average make it through, and these are fit guys that come out as well. They are also very highly trained in hand to hand combat. the military averages a quarter of a million dollars in training just for the first year per seal, and this doesnt include pay. You better beleive that the military isnt going to spend this amount of money only to let someone die when they dont have a weapon on them. Now lets look at a UFC fighter. a jock/ martial arts buff, or from what weve seen on the ultimate fighter, a punk, who comes out to fight in a ring. Put him up against a solder who has been conditioned to die before he gives up the fight, these are people who dive on grenades to save their friends lives....it makes me laugh that this is even a question. Thats like comparing an olympic athlete to a highschool player...many olympic athletes by the way, try out for seal training and fail. Comon man, lets make the fight somewhat realistic shall we.

We should all consider one fact here..Any Navy SEAL could go and train and become a UFC fighter...but how many UFC fighters would be able to make it through SEAL training? And by the way, any one who knows anything about fighting, knows that although the UFC fights are not staged, that it is a new sport and even your so called "legends" of the sport, are not all that spectacular. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard BJ Penn called a legend, yet he loses to some random fighter in Dubai because he wasnt fit enough. What kind of professional athlete can hide behind the excuse of not being fit enough when he performs? Most of these fighters are just punks, very few know how to fight. If any of them were to actually go to brazil and compete at a high level, not just practice and train, but to actually compete in championships there, they wouldnt even come close to the finals. They're not that great guys. The only guy who I have seen make an impression on me is anderson silva, and even his techniqe is not that great. The top fighters are in the countries that these forms of fighting are home to, not foreigners who go and train with them for a few weeks and then all the sudden they come back with black belts and a load of confidence. Put Mohamed Ali in the ring with any single fighter in the entire UFC history, and the UFC fighter will leave in a hospital bed. Does it not strike any one as strange that one of the top experts in UFC knowledge used to host fear factor as well? I wonder what experience he has exactly. And remember the experience you all talk about is in a brand new sport.

What are these championships in Brazil you are talking about? The last Navy Seal to enter the UFC got quickly beaten out.

So lets get this straight people. im a bjj champion that was born and raised in brasil i know all techniques and even made some up, cuz thats wat we do to win. so anyway a SEAL or Marine would lose right cuz who trains them? obviously someone who knows how to do that type of fighting. so they dont know all moves so then a ufc fighter would go all out subtracting rules cuz who cares it to the death. so he goes improvises everything adds in skills and techniques and years of training plus above named, as for the SEAL/Marine is stuck to what the teacher taught and little improvisation and training cuz they only get a few hours to parctice so.........................UFC duh!

You dumbasses put Navy Seals on a ridiculously high pedestal. Yeah, they're tough, but they're trained to fight with guns and explosives rather than their bodies. UFC fighters dedicate their lives to learning how to destroy other people while completely unarmed. They train in martial arts for hours per day, every day, and devote themselves to achieving a level of extreme fitness.

I 100% guarantee you any decent professional mixed martial artist would absolutely clown a Navy Seal. You can have the toughest attitude in the world and think your mindset will keep you from ever dying, but the fact is that a mixed martial artist with a background in wrestling, bjj and kickboxing would be able to put you down in under a minute. A tough attitude doesn't make up for an ACTUAL LACK OF SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE.

I killed 7 men before I was 21 years old. I was a soldier in Vietnam.

I killed two men in hand to hand style combat. One man I gauged his eyes then choked him to death. He was smaller than me but fought hard. The other man had me beat, I bit deep into his bicep until blood poored and he let go. Then I squeezed at various parts of his throat. He wouldn't quit but I kept grabbing his adams apple and squeezing. I watched him cry as he died.

War is not something glamorous. Killing a man is a difficult thing.

That's from a book, btw. I was just quoting that but it gives an idea of how hard soldiers fight. A UFC fighter is trained in his trade and whould probably win a fight b/w the two.

A fight to the death is going to be a lot different to a cage match for money. It would be more aggressive, faster, fighters would be more prone to make mistakes. The whole psyche of the fighter would be different in a fight to the death.

It's hard to say how well a special forces solider would compare as I am not sure how often they H2H fight and to the same level of intensity as a UFC fighter does.

Totally would depend on the individuals and their desire to survive.
