I won't say exactly what so this doesn't get taken down but I a JV investigator can look at his personal life and where he met his wife and surmise that old habits die hard.

I’d say that if your current wife also shows up in your university website bio as an athlete you “helped develop” we have an issue.

Why would that kind of investigation take 4 weeks and who is coaching the distance runners? I didn't get the impression he has a big staff under him.
My guess, it has to go through all the admin/HR type channels. Not really much of a rush because it’s just track and field and getting a new coach in there isn’t really a big deal. Not like it’s the offensive coordinator in the middle of football season. Ya know, the sport that actually makes them a profit.

You'd be shocked how long it can take admin to fire someone. My head coach has had constant complaints about abuse for almost 3 years now. Half our team is in the portal every year. He would basically have to commit murder to get fired.

Meaning they are asking for a job that hasn't been posted as being available and if they paid attention to our roster size would not be asking for a job because it's obvious we don't need an assistant.
Additionally, are people paying attention to what's happening in college athletics, especially in our sport, it sure doesn't look like a great career move to try to get into coaching at this time.
I mean, I am in it and enjoy it, but there are going to be fewer jobs out there not more.

Not likely. The university has finally committed to building a facility for the team and that can't be done without donations from male alums and they can't make their Title IX quotas without women's track.
Remember that last year they also had a big exodus from the program. Why? For some it was the grass being greener someplace else. Without a facility they have use a high school track a half an hour away and the overall support isn't particularly D1 either. One of the athletes who left last year told me directly that was why he left. Coach Ryan has done an excellent job building the program but that success comes at a cost. He's also not everyone's "cup of tea."

It is highly unusual for that many to enter the portal in one day. It's just not.
Perhaps they have decided to heavily fund track on both the men's and women's team and they are getting rid of all walk-ons and plan to give everyone new a full scholarship going forward. That is a possibility.
On the other hand, dropping the program is a possibility too. That's just a lot in one day and no, that did not happen last year. Not that many all at once.

I would imagine there are at least a few out of the 33 and 27 that are out of eligibility at the end of this year so they would not be entering the portal.
