The producers of this coverage really be sitting down in planning meetings thinking, “Huh, what can we do to fill up these 2 hours of boring running?!? 💡💡💡Well, the wheelchairs will make good variety, and then we can just show their interviews because they’re done so early!”
Sullivan on screen at 1:54:00. Is that the first time we've seen the American women? Certainly the first time I've seen them and I've been watching for more than an hour.
Funny, because in the Sisson/Samuelson interview, Sisson said something like "these American women we're watching run." But of course we weren't. :-)
You have spent the last decade railing against what you saw as cheating while at a certain sponsor. You have implied that other top American women have taken shortcuts. Why are you cheering for a sub 2:10 when you thought that fellow American women running under 2:20 was suspect?
Kara's not commentating. It's Carrie Tollefson. She could be a lot more enthusiastic, being from Minnesota and all. I think it's tough for the commentators in the know, as they want to give a performance due credit but they're probably skeptical too.

Even if you're 95% certain, probably not appropriate commentary to speculate on a live NBC broadcast.
I’ve never done the race but on TV the crowd always seems small and dead compared to NYC. Am I missing something?
crowd is always small for west loop and south side sections esp in the morning for the elites only really busy in the Loop and north side through Lincoln Park
I've always said that they should run this race in the opposite direction. Really bizarre how the scene changes after the first 13.1.
Emma Bates on 2:22 pace. So much for being in AR shape. Not trying to bash her but repeating before every race she is in 2:18 shape and then never getting even close to it is kinda weird. She needs to stop saying that and start doing for people to take her serious.
Doing the Scott Fauble - Bosshard's marathoners in general need to stop doing this "the data shows I'm in x shape" stuff.

I've always thought Tollefson is a little more low key than Goucher, but I like them both in different circumstances. I like Tollefson better overall, but get a kick out of Goucher's excitement when a track race is going well and the hosting team gives her some freedom to speak.
Rupp, though, is fabulous. Kinda low key like Tollefson, but man his insights are great.
