You fight the opponent put in front of you by the sanctioning body of your sport. If you won’t do that, then find a new sport.
I hate to break it to you but relative skull thickness is irrelevant when the punching power differential is so ridiculously high. As to your second point, the IOC- for political reasons- put two boxers into the wrong category. They had no right putting him in there with her, just like they'd have no right to put a heavyweight in with a flyweight. But I'm guessing you'd just say "dur, boxing is bad for you anyway, the flyweight should just fight the heavyweight".
