We've merged a ton of threads into 1. Other thread titles included, "The Pagan Olympics" another was called, "France Summed up in 1 picture", "Paris 2024: Child R*pist athlete, Satanic Opening Ceremony, Drag queens gyrating next to young girls..." and “Does not wanting my kids to watch a bisexual threesome at the Olympics make me a bigot?”
If it isn't clear to you by know that Satan is in control, I don't know what else to tell you.
Please go touch grass. You do not live in Paris, you do not pay taxes or have any affiliation with the country - you do not get to tell the country how they should perform their opening ceremonies. France does things different - if you don’t like it, then don’t watch - such a whiny b!tch. So many of you literally are just a sobbing bunch of losers who can’t appreciate a different viewpoint than yours. You lack diversity and culture. Things you gain when you travel out of the U.S. I’d be curious to see how many of uou actually have even been to Paris before.
I’m putting you straight in the gulag.
ironic the left is pushing mass migration from Islamic countries and at the same time this degenerate filth. Soon the Muslim majority will take power in Europe and impose sharia law on these people.

the biggest problem here is not that the olympics riffed on christian imagery in a disrespectful way.
the biggest problem is that it's a sham.
the opening ceremony designers felt free to mock Christianity...but not in a million years could they mock islam or judaism or hinduism.
They scream 'artistic freedom' but they don't really mean it. They know they would be literally murdered if they mocked Islam in a similar manner or fired if they mocked judaism.

This had nothing to do with the Last Supper. I will repeat
THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LAST SUPPER. IT WAS A DEPICTION OF GREEK GODS WITH DIONYSUS, THE GREEK GOD OF WINE AND FESTIVITY BEING FRONT AND CENTER.

that's just not true. Not even Paris 2024 is arguing that.
it was clearly riffing off Leonardo's last supper.
I am a Christian and was not in the least bit offended. I find it weird this offending a religion concept. Christians are taught that Christianity is not a religion, well if it isn't, where was the offense? Cannot have it both ways.
Don't know what to tell you. The large majority of your fellow Christian believers are saying they are extremely offended by the absolute trashing of the Last Supper in France. Maybe you're more like a Zen kind of guy? That Caine dude in Kung Fu. Nothing got under his skin. He was implacable.
Well given that it had nothing to do with the Last Supper as it was about Greek Gods and Dionysus in particular, I don't see why Christians should be offended. If you are a true Christian, even if it was about the Last Supper true Christians should not be offended. Heck, Jesus said if the world hated him, people who call themselves his children should expect the same. It just seems to me that religion has been weaponized to be used for narcissistic political ends. That is one of the things I find offensive.
Then again, it seems to be the norm these days to find everything that create offense. Sadly people live such miserable lives.

Paris 2024 apologized today.
I mean look at this. Scroll down to the comparison images between the Leonardo and the Opening Ceremony. It was meant to conjure up the Last Supper. Groups of three, central figure, one side of the table.
THEN they brought in the pagan stuff.
If it wasn't the Last Supper why does the paris Christ figure have a Christian halo? No pagan imagery included halos. Only Christian.

The apology said nothing about the Last Supper. It was an apology to anyone who happened to be offended. It was a satire of the famous painting depicting Dionysus and his partying giving a shout out to the Greek and the fact that Greece was the origin of the Olympics.

dude look at the pix I posted above this one.
and then tell me it wasn't the last supper
and then explain the halo.
zero question. it was riffing on the last supper

Are you a Christian? If you are, why are you offended
And this is how the democrats want the US to look. Immorality from within brought down the Roman Empire not foreign invaders.
You spelled tinyhats wrong
They have no problem, spelling the F word correctly on all these stupid flags out in front of their houses and all of the ridiculous stickers on their vehicles with the actual F word on them. And they claim to be the side of morality, hilarious. Then again their leader sleeps with porn stars and sexually assaults 13-year-old models

I don't talk about anything personal on the interwebz.
I didn't say I was offended.
I'm interested in this for two reasons:
1) it clearly riffs on the last supper and pretending otherwise is just bad looking.
2) politically, it's only ok to mock christians and not muslims or jews or hindus. that's not a good setup. Not fair and not tenable.
Seriously tho. Can you look at the comparison pics and still argue it had nothing to do with the last supper? really?
Being a Christian is more than being personal. Jesus said if you deny me before men, I will deny you before the Father. As a Christian, I am not offended. My faith is not wrapped in politics or any number of the performative acts that are being used to weaponize religion for political ends. Jesus said be in the world but not of the world. You should only be offended if your faith is man made.
The images do appear to be have direct similarities.

Ironic that the right is pushing fascism again. The right that gave us two world wars one in which millions were thrown into ovens while alive. This I find deeply offensive.
Dude, do the math. There were 13 at the last supper there are at least 18 and at times 21 in the Shots from Paris. Stop with the groups of 3 BS. You can’t edit a photo to prove your theories. Paris apologized if they offended anybody. They did not say it was the last supper. And while we’re at it, perhaps those faux Christian’s that are repulsed by this should have boycotted Mel Brooks, The Simpsons, Monty Python et al

look, if your eyes don't find the clear and intended connection then I don't think you are very good at looking at stuff and describing what you see. 18,13, that doesn't matter.
on the other thing:
they did protest Monty Python:
It may not be true that all publicity is good publicity, but in the case of Monty Python’s Life of Brian, which was released 40 years ago, some of the bad publicity was heaven-sent. The comedy team’s irreverent Biblical romp had been due to open on 200 screens across the US, but after various religious groups protested against it, the number of screens was tripled. “They actually made me rich,” said John Cleese of the protesters on one American talk show. “I feel we should send them a crate of champagne or something.”

It doesn’t matter, a part of our population has grown accustomed to an alternate reality. Half joke but not really. Michelle Obama will be running for president. George Soros will hire jumbo 747 to fly women of color from Ohio to California for abortions. The borders are entirely open. And it’s repeated by “reputable” and “educated” people that should know better.
